Nice hotel, nice staff. Room was spacious and it was an overall enjoyable experience. Requested a fan and got one delivered to the room straight away. Great parking and plenty of it. Reason for 4/5 instead of 5/5 is the menu and food item I got didn't quite match. I ordered a "vegetable feast pizza" which stated there would be onion, button mushrooms, peppers, buffalo mozzarella, brie cheese and rocket, which sounded great. The pizza came out with regular grated mozzarella, regular mushrooms and no brie cheese at all as well as the vegetables being really scarce. On the menu the food seemed artisan and fresh but in reality it was more like a takeaway, the dough was fine. Pints of Guinness were not good at all, left half a pint. Ate elsewhere the next day which is unfortunate because breakfast was lovely on both mornings, just one tiny issue was the cheese in the buffet being plated with meat so it wasn't vegetarian friendly but the rest was great and seating area for breakfast was spacious and comfortable.
Hotel staff very welcoming,.. our room was spotless, good size bed... the bar area was big, they even had a seating area outside and a few chairs to sit in the sun. We booked breakfast with our stay and the quality of the food was very good indeed, and plenty of it and good variety The restaurant seemed to be busy lunch time, with lots of local people using it, which is a good sign, shows it must be good value and quality. We did eat there ourselves and enjoyed our meal. People in Waterford are very friendly. We would definitely visit it again and would be happy to book another stay at the Viking Hotel. The hotel is good distance out of the center of Waterford, but we managed the buses ok and got a taxi home at night, we also had our bikes with us as the holiday was to cycle the Green Way which we did and throughly loved it. The hotel catered well for cyclists, they have a big lock up room to leave your cycles securely locked up, and no problem recharging our electric bikes. 10 out of 10 Viking Hotel.
Enjoyed our stay, good wi-fi and free parking.
Loved the hotel, staff safe all wore masks, it was the wettest day when we arrived, receptionist let us In to room earlier than we expected, & we were very grateful. Only problem we had was it was so far from a bus stop,we are both elderly, otherwise we were very happy
Staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was excellent and their evening food was excellent
Really enjoyed our stay here with friends, hotel was spotless, food was excellent. There were very few guests at this time, in fact we had the restaurant to ourselves (2 couples) each night for dinner and after dinner drinks. The staff were lovely in restaurant, bar and reception. Felt very safe despite the recent surge of Covid , staff ensured that Covid regulations were adhered to and there were sanatizing stations throughout the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
We were very impressed with our stay, excellent food, very very clean, brilliant staff very friendly, would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to family and friends 10/10
For a three star hotel it felt like a four star????????????????
Very enjoyable stay. Fantastic evening meal. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Spacious room. Highly recommend. Will visit again.
TO BE HONEST, THE STAFF WERE LOVELY, BUT.......THE FOOD NOT SO GOOD AND THE BREAKY TERRIBLE.....COLD PLATES, FOOD PRE COOKED AND POOR QUALITY , ROOM WAS PERFECT BUT BATHROOM SO OUT OF DATE!!!!
Lovely hotel ...good location ...v.quite ...lovely food ...v.plea sent staff
Hotel was lovely ...very comfortable ....really quite ...very pleasent staff .. ..food was delicious ...thanks for such a enjoyable break
The staff were all very friendly, however the bathroom badly needed to be modernised, sadly the breaky was terrible, the main evening course was excellent.
Staff friendly and helpful. Service good. Enjoyed our stay and would return.
Very clean, great food and service.
Had a lovely stay. Food was tasty and the staff were very kind and helpful
We certainly enjoyed our 2 night stay. We had already stayed in this hotel a few years ago. and we were pleased with the current facilities We really had a great few days. The room, breakfast was Excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will back for another stay, as this hotel was a great place to stay .
brilliant hotel great food great staff
Really pleasant stay-comfortable beds, brilliant showers and friendly staff. Only small downsize was our food was slightly overcooked. My son ordered a steak- medium rare but came out well done and I ordered the burger which was "carmalised". We were too hungry to send them back, but my husband had the chicken and he said it was very tasty. Overall a good experience with an eight out of ten.
very happy with our stay especially with the price great value keep up the good deals so we can always afford to have a holiday
The location leaves a lot to be desired. Having to dine in the bar (rather than the restaurant) was disappointing. Food and staff were very good.
All was perfect from check in to checking out ,lovely friendly receptionists, restaurant staff at evening meal were so lovely and were more than helpful .bbreakfast staff could be more friendly it means a lot. Room was lovely over all very pleasant stay.
Good location, nice clean hotel, good breakfast.
To start off with the dinner, we waited a good 20 minutes for someone to take our order, hot wings for a starter which were not a bit hot. Main course was a Beef burger which came out with just onion on it, the bun on it was awful, Lidl buns are better. We even left before we got desert. The girl that took our order looked like she hated her job. When we checked out we got a phone call to say the room was damaged because there was a bit of talcum powder on the floor so they fined me for it. Over exaggerating on the phone to me. I definitely wouldn't go back and obviously wouldn't recommend this place to anybody
Very pleasant stay, highly recommended
Excellent staff,fantastic food,lovely clean rooms
Love this hotel. Have stayed there many times. Food excellent, rooms spacious and spotless. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ideal location. Very relaxing break every time. *****
Easy to find, good parking. Food was nice in the Asgard Bar and breakfast was nice in the restaurant next morning. I was disappointed that there was only Fried eggs and not scrambled eggs at the self service breakfast. Otherwise very nice. The room was good and quiet and there were lots of channels on the TV which makes a change from some hotels. The bed was softer than most places Ive stayed recently but was nice all the same. Service was very pleassnt and efficient. overall very nice hotel.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The dinner (part of a dinner, bed and breakfast package) was bar food, and nothing special. There was a good choice for breakfast. The hotel is surrounded by car showrooms, but conveniently located for visiting the beautiful Mount Congreve gardens. SG
Had a dreadfull experience at this hotel. First of all is located in an area where there is nothing but car sales buildings. Its named the "car village".Rooms were ok.Remote control for TV not working...didn't matter.Went down to restaurant with family for dinner and nobody seemed to want to show me to our table.had to queue to get a menu and after that also had a 20 min queue for someone to take upr order.Waited 45 mins to get our food. While waiting for our dinner not one table was cleaned and my son actually cleaned our table.Durning the night it was like someone was carrying out maintenance work...didn't sleep. The waitresses in the dining room the following morning weren't very pleasant and top top it all there was mould on the toast.one of the food warmers wasn't working and my husband said the sausages were sour.I asked to speak with the manager but he wasn't "around".I phoned him a few days later and to be honest he wasn't very business man like.I really blame the management as I felt the hotel was extreamly understaffed. The bar man was a very hard working man.Thats my review and I certainly won't be back there.it doesn't even deserve one star.
I was booked in this hotel last week on thursday the 13 to saturday the 15 of july for two nights bed and breakfast and dinner deal. But when i arrived i was told that they had a room for just one night. They did not try to help book somewhere else are give names of hotels or b&b. I do not know who is at fault lidl breaks or the hotel. But it was a two and a half hour drive for me and my friend, needless to say this was a matter of embarasment to me as I had booked it. I look forward to your input in this matter yours truly Rosanna Heffernan
Although the hotel was a good location and clean. I was very disappointed with this Lidl offer. We paid for two nights B&B and two course dinner on one night. We discover that the restaurant is not open in the evenings so what was available was food in the bar i.e. bar food. If that is what the offer is then state it. I wouldn't recommend the hotel indeed I think the word Ramada is no longer on the signage.
Food and room cleaning was not up to the satisfactory level. Reception was not friendly to guide some local attractions.
Stayed in the family room with our two boys, staff very friendly, room clean and perfect for our needs. Breakfast and bar food were great would recommend this hotel for those who are looking for good value and good service and child friendly.
KIERAN AND LINDA WERE GREAT I MADE A MISTAKE WITH MY BOOKING AND THEY HAD NO PROBLEM SORTING IT FOR ME. REST OF STAFF WERE ALSO VERY GOOD FOOD YOU COULD NOT FIND A FAULT WITH. ROOM VERY SPACEOUS AND CLEAN WILL STAY AGAIN J.P
Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet arramgment with plenty of choice. Would use again....
We stayed in the Ramada Viking Hotel on the October Bank Holiday weekend and we had a great time. The hotel on first impressions appeared basic but it ticked all our boxes for a great weekend. The food we had in the bar/restaurant was really lovely. The breakfast was great. The staff were so helpful and pleasant to deal with. The room was spacious and spotless clean. Out son made a little friend and had a ball playing in the lobby area while we enjoyed a relaxing night cap. We made use of the leisure facilities in the sister hotel which was about a 5 minute drive away but it was straight-forward, on a ring road with no traffic (no driving through the town) and you were straight in to the Woodlands Leisure Centre from the car park (no making your way through another hotel etc). You would need to be driving to appreciate this hotel as it is not walking distance from the centre of Waterford city but it suited us just fine. We spent most of our time either going to the Leisure Centre or heading in to Tramore so our son could go to the play centres. It was a perfect family hotel for us and great value.
Lovely family hotel where we spent a nice break in Waterford. Good location just off the motorway and easy to find. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definately book the hotel again.
We had 2 nights stay in this hotel .Our room was a family room .It was an average hotel. Rooms not completly clean. We had noticed a lolypop stick and a chocolete raper over the phone at first look. The only view from the family room was the generator / boiler room. Breakfast also average . Dining room staff was very plesent ,but two days the coffie we got in the morning was not warm...., the mushrooms are not properly cooked. On vacating the receptionists attitude was very poor. Never ask about our feedback or comfort during the stay. This hotel location was in an ideal place to visit places like Tramore and Dunmore east.
Ramada Hotel is beautiful Hotel in Waterford. We enjoyed our stay immensely. We were so close to Waterford city yet we were away from noise from city traffic, Evening meal and breakfast were very well prepared and Service was first Class We will stay again when we go to Waterford
lovely hotel, very clean, friendly staff and very nice atmosphere, I will stay again
My stay at your hotel was anything but relaxing due to the presence of about 70 plus members of the travelling community.who almost took over the whole hotel, and had no respect for anyone, being very loud and unruly all nite .l am sorry to say I wud never recommend your hotel to anyone now or in the near future , Jimmy Dooley
We had a fantastic two day Break in the Viking Hotel. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, Food was excellent, Staff very friendly, Highly recommended we'll be back.
One star. The hotel had no record of our booking. This took nearly an hour to sort out. There was not much food left at breakfast even though we were on time. Very dissatisfied overall. Bad experience compared to previous weekends we booked through lidl.
Rooms were nice, spacious comfortable. Staff were v helpful. But I found breakfast disappointing. Not a great range. But overall will stay again
hi the hotel was nice clean and the receptionist was very helpful the restaurant /bar staff were under alot of pressure it was busy and there was just two working there very slow and the breakfast was the same staff under pressure and were busy aat the time it was ok for one night
everything was perfect only fault the drink on tap was not the best would go back again
the hotel was nice . stayed for five nites bar food is a must very good and very good price too :-) would coming again to stay ... staff were lovely
Here is our review on your hotel! question that we asked Thank you for a lovely stay in your much acclaimed hotel, but there are a couple of things that could be improved upon, such as, the bar, which could be made more comfortable to sit in by having 'nicer' seating instead of 'cafe' type seating, which makes you feel that the staff would like you to finish your meal or drink and just go! Secondly, the 'non-smoking' area for bed-rooms is not working, as we spent the time coughing as we passed the stairs which obviously lead to the smoking area! Lastly, the outside of the hotel could be looked after a bit better, as in large tubs of flowers, hanging baskets, and whatever else makes for an attractive 'first impression' of anywhere, especially a world-wide known group of hotels such as the Ramada! Well, we think that is all there is to complain about, but on a lighter note, we must say that all the staff on reception were exceptional, no matter how stupid a question that we asked, it did'nt matter, and also all the staff in general were so nice and helpful, so will finish now and hope to visit one of your hotels again soon! Kind Regards, Cathy + Mike Barry 4 STAR RATING (Dublin)
Good Hotel Very Bad Location Would Not Stay Again
