The Clayton Whites Hotel is a legend inextricably woven into the social, cultural and artistic history of Wexford. From as early as 1715, local historians believe that a lodging house called The Kings Arms, existed close to the present site of the hotel. It is well recorded that Whites was a militiamens lodging house in 1779, surviving the bloody insurrection against the English in 1798 when the Coffee House was mentioned in the diary of a survivor. This Hotel has implemented a full range of enhanced sanitisation procedures and new practices which have been rigorously reviewed by Bureau Veritas, a trusted, independent global leader in tested, inspections and certification. Hotel had been accredited by Green Tourism, a certification program that provides a framework to achieve a sustainable business in the tourism industry.

Pleasant stay, central location, good parking.
Just perfect , 4 friends having an overnight break close to home . Hotel is central to shops and pubs . We had music which was great for a Tuesday night in T Morris close by . Rooms were great , we got an upgrade and adjoining rooms . Breakfast was perfect in a lovely spacious dining room . All round good value lovely relaxing break .
Enjoyed it very much
Enjoyed it very much
The Hotel was very clean ground floor room very convient. Staff friendly. The gluten free breakfast section was clearly marked gluten free and displayed a notice about contamination with non gluten free food. The only thing I found fault with was the choice of menu for evening meal in the bar. Hotel is very convient if you want to go shopping.
Enjoyed our stay at the Clayton. Breakfast and bar food excellent. Leisure centre very good. Staff very polite and helpful. Will definitely visit again
Great stay, great hotel, great service, great weather
Lovely hotel nice bar area nice food. Breakfast good with good choices of hot and cold food. Room spacious and comfortable bed. Very clean. Enjoyed our two nights break. Will use this hotel again
Excellent
There is very little to find fault with at Whites hotel. It is a lovely hotel, very clean, great staff, spacious room, great leisure facilities, close to lots of great attractions. Our only quibble was that the breakfast was just warm, not piping hot but they had a great selection.
Value for money, lovely hotel right in the centre of Wexford, food lovely
Comfortable place for leisure and breakfast is good!!
We went as a family, my husband and I, my daughter and her husband and their 2 children, for Easter holidays. We found the hotel is in a great location, right in the heart of Wexford town, which was just excellent for us, to be so near shops and restaurants and pubs. It was great to have the swimming pool and all the amenities like Sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, as well as a fully equipped gym. The children enjoyed the kids club with gave us adults time to relax and enjoy our dinner and a few drinks. I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and spotless clean, and a good size. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and we will be back from definite.
Great location - very very helpful staff. Not our first time in the hotel and will return.
I would describe the hotel as 'adequate'! The location was brilliant, but the rooms were a bit dated, the carpet was stained and frayed near the edges, the mattress was a bit soft, the towels in the bathroom were frayed and the armchairs near the lift were covered in stains and could have done with a good cleaning. The lobby, bar and reception area are lovely, so that made the bedroom even more of a dissapointment, especially as we were on a romantic getaway for our anniversary. The breakfast was only okay (the beans were cold). The only potatoes they had were these fried crisps things that looked awful greasy. When I asked if they had any other type of potato, I got a sullen 'No'. The reason I said that I would recommend the hotel to a friend or colleague is solely because of the location, which is amazing and the lobby area is nice and welcoming if you were meeting somebody for a drink.
Everything was lovely room , staff etc. Only thing the breakfast delivered to the room wasn't great. I've never seen burnt eggs til now.
Really enjoyed my stay in the Clayton white hotel wexford, we got a lovely room looking out towards the sea, friendly staff, food was delicious ,looking forward to many more trips to other hotels on offer I near future, thank you

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff Excellent breakfast Bar food expensive
Super hotel.Great breakfast.Lovely room.
We’ve stayed here countless times over the years and it never disappoints, beautiful rooms, friendly staff and right in the heart of Wexford town so once you park up you can ramble around the town, we have never had a bad experience in Clayton Whites and most certainly will be back ??
A lovely hotel for a quick break away. We were greeted on arrival in a very friendly way by the Reception Personnel. The room was cosey and comfortable. The restaurant provided an excellent choice from the menu and the bar was convivial and very busy. Had a quick look around Wexford Town, but will be back to Whites for a longer stay.
Overall. happy with our stay. Rooms and bathrooms were spotless.
everything was perfect
Lovely hotel, huge stylish lobby with coffee dock, fab bar and restaurant, room spotless and very quiet. Leisure centre also spotless and good facilities.
Lovely hotel, very convenient to main street, shop etc. Spacious foyer, bedrooms ,bar and restaurant. Great food, friendly staff. Will avail of leisure centre on next visit. Great value, really enjoyed our brief stay.
A beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. Food was really good. Room was beautiful.
Check in staff noticed that I was with companions and without any hassle changed my room to the same floor Couldn’t fault the attention to detail They were so accommodating I was impressed and delighted
A pleasant relaxed hotel break, centrally located for everyone but especially for those travelling by train. Would have liked a complimentary newspaper tho. Mostly nice staff throughout. Lovely courtyard for a wedding taking place on the Thursday of our stay. Breakfast nice too.
Nice hotel. Central. Nice bedroom and shower. Breakfast lovely
Lovely clean hotel . Breakfast super. Fresh orange juice, selections of fruits , prunes Seeds etc . The music on thurs nite was fab great mix of tunes . Every one stood up for the national anthem. Very moving.

Very pleasant venue and staff very friendly.
Spotless hotel food is excellent, and staff are polite and pleasant. Leisure centre is also great.
Nice clean hotel, centrally located with spa facilities. Good varied breakfast and lovely friendly staff. I would recommend it.

The hotel was up to its usual high standard for cleanliness, excellent staff, facilities, food, drinks and comfort. I have always enjoyed staying in this hotel. Long may they keep their high service to guests.
Very friendly staff room was in perfect location 2 rooms were right beside each other perfect location for stroll through town
The hotel is so central in Wexford Town it makes a great location for theatre & shopping. Staff very helpful, excellent food & a great atmosphere, looking forward to next stay there.
Had a lovely time in Clayton White hotel. Great staff, location and room
We stayed here Thursday and had a really nice time , all staff were very helpful, bar food was very nice great portion and reasonable priced ; the room was spotless fresh and clean , will defo be back again
Stayed for one night with my elderly mother beginning of December we enjoyed our stay ...couldn't get heating working in room that there of heating only for foreign country's we were freezing and cold in lobby area .could do with better heating system. Over all we enjoyed our stay
Have stayed here before and will be staying there again. Great food. Spotless. Staff lovely.
We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at Whites of Wexford. The staff throughout the hotel are so friendly and helpful. The food was fab and the spa was an absolute treat. We will be back
Excellent hotel very central and lovely staff.
I Found staff lovely and helpful expecially catering staff lovely found it very central for shopping would return
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful service very good ???? food was excellent. Leisure centre staff brilliant ???? can't wait to go back
Lovely hotel and huge room but no sockets near the bed to charge your phone staff were very nice
Really nice hotel, friendly staff, food lovely
Disappointed in our 2 day stay here. Booked into Room 610 but strong damp and mouldy smell on stairwells down to very cold room. Requested another room but was told it was not possible. Heat didn’t work in room and no housekeeping done in the 2 day stay. Expected 4 star treatment but sadly 0 stars. Sadly will not return.
Booked a night away with my wife. Rooms could do with updating. As you arrive at the reception/bar area it looks like a 4-star hotel, but when you enter the rooms it's more like a 3 start hotel.
Would like to see more plant based meals on the menu. The room was clean but a bit too small, it had a double and single bed but one bed would have done as there were only two of us (couple). Breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. Staff in the bar were not very friendly except for a bar manager. He was very pleasant.
Arrived a little early so qued & paid, came back at 4 & had to que for 10/15 mins, reception staff had no interaction not a smile or welcome. Had asked for room with bath did not get it. Location was good.
Booked as a wedding anniversary night away. Sweet treats & note from manager left in upgraded room for our stay. Hotels location is perfect for shopping or the nightlife. All staff very friendly & helpful. Didn’t have food in the hotel that evening but breakfast the next morning was lovely & fresh and a great selection to cater for everyone.Definitely will be returning to this hotel in the near future
Breakfast food from hot food section was mostly cold table service was poor certainly not what I expect from a four star hotel
Staff unpleasant, Double bed was broken / mattress sunken. The cleaner never took bagged rubbish or leave milk Milk Jugs/Teapots were filthy and always empty. Breakfast was disgraceful, freezing cold, no cereals refilled, no plates or glasses. Only yogurt was poured into the bowl should be individuals. Dinner ordered two drinks at the start of the meal never arrived. When we asked about them we were shouted at that they are short staffed. When checking out never asked if enjoyed your stay or safe journey. I complained about the bed the next morning to be told would have someone ring – nobody rang. The fan outside the room was extremely noisy and complained and did not call again to advise if fixed. The cleaner cleaned the bathroom floors with a spray and towel under her foot this is extremely unhygienic. Very unpleasant experience and we want a full refund. This complaint is been sent directly to the hotel also as it was a terrible experience for my husband's birthday.
Lovely hotel. However beverage costs expensive.
Lovely hotel in a great location, in centre of town, 5 mins walking distance of railway station. Lovely bright and spacious bedroom. Friendly staff and good choice on menu.Music in bar even though it was a mid week break.Well worth a visit!
Had a lovely time in whites hotel .I just feel they could do with more staff for Breakfast time and in the lounge .had a few problems with my orders when they came out .otherwise all OK
Fantastic service especially from Kane. Great location, room perfect, easy underground parking. Excellent breakfast. Highly recommended!
We had a lovely room with a river view. Everything was great,we had evening meal which was lovely in the bar... Breakfast was nice but cold.
We had a lovely stay in The Clayton Whites Hotel. Every staff member could not have been more pleasant and friendly and helpful. Even the younger staff who were taken on for the holidays were so competent and busy, cleaning tables in the dining room area and picking up glasses and taking orders in the bar. We had a lovely break the food was very tasty the bed was so comfortable and the service was 5 star.Looking forward to another break in the Clayton Whites Hotel
Wonderful staff. Really enjoyed my stay in this hotel
Overall a mixed experience in Clayton Whites Hotel. I thought the staff were always friendly and approachable. The pool facility was very pleasant. On the flip side, our room for 3 people was ridiculously small. No shelves/drawers for clothes and the smaller button for flushing the toilet was broken. My partner could not make it down until the third night so there were only two of us at first. Hence the fact we didn't bother asking for a larger room. At breakfast time, I felt that all the crockery, glasses etc were grimy and so presumably dirty. This made our breakfast experience less pleasurable.
Love Clayton Whites Hotel the staff are friendly and helpful great location the rooms are comfortable. Can't wait to go back. We always stay there when in Wexford.
Fabulous hotel and staff couldn’t do enough for you will definitely be returning again
This was a very nice hotel The staff were so friendly and welcoming The courtyard was spectacular and I spent most afternoons having a nice pint and chatting with other guests The room was clean and modern but the carpets in room and on stairs could do with a clean My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much
Had a lovely stay in Clayton Hotel. Food was lovely , rooms beautiful bright and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will stay there again.
We had a great stay in the hotel, great atmosphere and friendly staff. The only bad thing was €8 for a glass of wine, which is a bit overpriced ????????.
Just enjoyed a 2 night stay . Breakfast was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. It's ideally located too. Will definitely return.
We had a great stay in the hotel, great atmosphere and friendly staff. The only bad thing was €8 for a glass of wine, which is a bit overpriced ????????.
More accessible sockets in rooms
Hotel was fantastic, been there before and had nicer room but possibly the cheaper rate through lidl breaks meant lesser room. Didn't take from trip. Breakfast was lovely. Parking was free. ????
Room was comfortable and clean, but the view was disappointing. Looking at wrought iron and building works made us keep the curtains closed. Visitor information in hotel foyer would have been welcomed.
Breakfast could do with a re-think
We had a lovely time and the hotel was more than accommodating in our requests, the breakfast was really nice, best selection we have had had in such a long time. Staff were so lovely, we will be back.::
Unfortunately this time we stayed it definitely wasn’t at the same standard as it had been in February. The room was very small. The bar food was poor quality and over cooked. Breakfast bowls were dirty. It just seemed under staffed. Leisure centre is super, staff in hotel are very friendly. Just not enough staff.
Service good but general areas of hotel need an update
Probably a good hotel in normal times however when we stayed in June I wouldn’t consider it a good hotel. Inadequate number of staff and those they did have were not trained. Dining room staff wandering around clueless bringing food to wrong tables, forgetting orders etc. Check in took forever and room wasn’t ready for quiet a while. On our second day they ran out of towels. 2 young housekeeping staff burst into our room at about 4.15pm (without knocking) with 2 hand towels and told us laundry had no more towels!!! At 8pm I phoned reception to say we had no towels they delivered 4 hand towels and one bath and no apology. I just feel for a 4 star hotel this wasn’t good enough. I know it’s all down to lack of staff but hotel shouldn’t fill the hotel with guests if they don’t have the staff to look after them and maybe if they trained staff properly it would help.
Very nice hotel staff very friendly and bargain breaks very reasonable best way to book
Staff very helpful and friendly . Checking in area very slow just two receptionist on duty at a busy time ????
Very clean. Great location. Rooms nice. Pool lovely.
All that staff were amazing and so helpful and polite. Food was amazing couldn’t fault . We will definitely be back to stay .
Very enjoyable stay in this hotel. First class attention from all the staff we dealt with. Good room and excellent breakfast.
Tv didn’t work in the room
Tv didn’t work in the room
I was a bit disappointed as felt it was not the same standard as a previous stay just before covid started. I travelled with my daughter who uses a wheelchair and I had a lot of baggage/medical equipment and I was not offered assistance at any stage of check in/out. Also there were no plug points at the bed wall. The toilets near reception were not pleasant. I would use the hotel again though as the location for access to the town is great.
In the center of wexford town, easy walk to bars, shop etc, under ground parking,
We were surprised and delighted with the upgrade to suite on arrival for my husbands 75th birthday. We had a very enjoyable comfortable stay and want to thank the staff for making it so special. We would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family. Thanking you Phyllis Kelly.
Lovely hotel, Staff very helpful and friendly. Will visit again.
Great location, rooms roomy and nice, en suite also.
attended a wedding only stayed 1 night. right in the middle of town close to train station. Food was lovely staff very friendly. room was very nice and comfortable. would definitely stay again.
This hotel is truly a 4 star, from the time you check in until you check out. The staff, accommodation (fabulous views from the 5th floor bedroom) cleanliness and food are excellent. Will return soon.
Could nt fault it good food service
Staff very professional and friendly. Lovely choices at breakfast. Great location for shopping .
This is a lovely hotel, breakfast is good, we ate dinner both days there but I think the food could be improved upon, also more variety. is needed. We were in room 650 and had difficulty with the heating system, it was attended to very quickly but the man who arrived seemed to be annoyed, asked us did we want a blow heater. We declined that but in hindsight probably should have taken it as the heating only worked for an hour and that was it. Despite all of this, we did enjoy our break.
Stayed for 1 night B&B everything was perfect from the receptionist booking in to the bar staff and dining room staff brilliant and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble and breakfast was delicious. This was my second time staying this year and I will definitely be back
nice stay ,family rooms very nice ,good location
Lovely hotel, family room was lovely and spacious. Food was great. Leisure centre is spotless.
Enjoyed the hotel .Large foyer with coffee dock was v good .Food was good .Bedroom and bath room were small particularly the bathroom
Lovely Hotel. Great service and facilities. Really friendly and helpful staff.
I enjoyed my stay at Clayton White Hotel food was lovely and reasonably priced The staff were lovely But the Bar Staff very slow we were waiting half a hour on a drink
good location
Overall we were disappointed with our stay. Our room was on the fourth floor. Neither the room or the view was anything special. The heating kept breaking down. The safe didn't work and the stopper in the sink was stuck. As the hotel was full we agreed to spend our first night in this room and a portable heater was supplied. We did not have a good night's sleep due to a lot of noise on the floor from our neighbours. Michael, the manager on duty, was most attentive and helpful. He moved us promptly to the second floor the next morning. The room was no better, we were looking on to the wall of the car park. But at least we had heat and a working safe. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent. He did say we would have a better room if one was avaiable and he reduced our rate. We found most of the staff very friendly. Daniella at breakfast was most cheerful and helpful. The gluten free choices were excellent. My husband Michael is a coeliac. We had afternoon tea as there was a gluten free option available. This was something we had not come across before so we had to try it. We were not disappointed. We ordered room service on our last evening. Our room number was not noted. We would not have received our order at all had we not rang after one hour waiting. This enabled the kitchen to know what our room number was. Whereas we did appreciate the honesty of the guy that took our order we were well hungry by the time we received it! Then the following morning on checkout our bill was incorrect. The refunded amount that Michael had done was back on the bill again. We felt embarrassed having to query this with the receptionist who seemed totally confused. There was a line of people waiting at the time which added to our embarrasment. We were held up for almost thirty minutes whilst the receptionist got it sorted with a manager (not Michael) in the back room. We were stressed on arrival and stressed on leaving! Overall the hotel has some good points as well as not so good. But as a direct result of our experience there I would not return to this hotel.
The hotel is stunning. We loved everything about it. The room was perfect for a family of 4 and all the staff were so nice and helpful. We had an amazing stay and will be definitely back to stay again.
Staff v friendly Hotel and rooms clean Great atmosphere in the hotel and bar Good location
Went with my family for a two day mid term break. I thought the hotel was great and would recommend it. I don't know about dinners but breakfast was good.
Its a nice hotel in a good position .however it was very cold in the room and i reported it the first night and nothing happened. The next day i reported it again and a member of staff brought up a heater. However the heater didnt work. I rang reception who eventually replaced the heater with one that worked. I was surprised to be charged fir parking as i have never stayed in a hotel that charged for parking. Other than those two issues I found everything grand.
We had a lovely stay in hotel, the staff were super friendly and helpful and we will definitely visit again
We booked this hotel for my husband's 50th birthday with our extended family. The hotel could not have been any more helpful - from reservations right through to check out - they looked after us so well! Would definitely recommend and right in the heart of Wexford town
Fantastic hotel, friendly staff, fab bedrooms comfy beds, breakfast was lovely hotel very spacious and safe can’t wait to stay again
Hotel is really nice great location to town and rooms excellent as was the breakfast ...Dinner in the bar on the friday night was poor restaurant was little better but i visit this hotel quite often and i was a bit disappointed in the evening meals in general
Hi as no toilet brush in the bathroom remains of last person still on the toilet bowl :0( breakfast looks lovely but was luke warm but couldn't fault friendliness of staff and would stay again but would like a HOT breakfast thanks Pauline
What an amazing hotel the staff were soo friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. We had a problem in our room and within 30 minutes they knew it couldn't be fixed and transferred us to another room no questions asked.
Excellent hotel and it was nice to travel the sunny South East for a change
The place looking a bit dated, could do with new carpets on the stairwells, smell coming from them. Most of the staff very good and friendly except for the bald guy with the beard in the bar who was very rude and ignorant when asked a question.
We enjoyed our stay food was very good great choices for breakfast. They catered for coeliac food and I would recommend this Hotel
Great location. Friendly staff
Great location. Friendly staff
The spa did not have vacancies and that was disappointing but the access to leisure center was nice.
I really Enjoyed Myself With My friend , There Was A lovely Athosmphere in the Hotel. Only Thing I would Say Is The Room Only Had A double Bed In It And We Had Too Share A Bed . Because We Are Gud Friends We Didnt Really Mind But It Was a Bit Un Comfortable .
It's a lovely hotel we got a great sea view room and very clean hotel staff very friendly and food was great would defiantly recommend hotel right in wexford town and also recommend bargin breaks thanks
Hotel was clean and staff friendly, just a few wee things that weren't up to scratch, TV in bedroom was very old not many channels and picture blurry, few wee holes in duvet cover, bed wasn't changed at all during our 4 night stay, food overall could be hotter
Everything was great
We always enjoy our stay at Whites. Really comfortable rooms, great breakfast, good food. Cannot fault the facilities. Will be back definitely.
Nice hotel! Lovely decor and layout! Unfortunately the food we ordered was not good! The chips weren’t fresh and neither was the side salad ???? disappointed as it was very expensive!
Staff were very friendly and so kind to me and my 2 children. The pool times were very well organised. Breakfast was good. Free ice cream for the children on arrival was a nice touch. Our room was lovely and housekeeping every day while we were at breakfast. Nonetheless, the shower was very small as it was a corner shower. Also. not great power in the shower. Evening Bar food was of a very poor standard, very greasy and my daughter's Pizza was rock hard and tasteless. Overall, it was a lovely break away. I would stay again but I would eat out.
From the moment we arrived we felt most welcome. The hotel has excellent health and safety systems in place and our stay was just perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had to leave early for personal reasons and the Management were very facilitative and helpful.
GREAT PLACE TO STAY..ONLY ISSUE WAS BREAKFAST FOOD NOT WARM.SEEM TO RUN OUT OF HOT FOOD AT TIMES THEN YOU HAVE TO WAIT .TABLES NOT CLEARED WHILE YOU EATING.
Lovely hotel food in bar and restaurant excellent breakfast excellent. Staff very helpful hope go again soon really enjoyed my stay .
All staff at the hotel were very friendly customer was very hotel was very nice food was excellent both evening and morning couldn't fault it at all would diffinitely stay here again and so near the shops to is a bonus too
Fab hotel great staff would deff come back again
under the covid 19 restriction have to say Whites Hotel do everything to make you feel safe, staff are exellent, the only down side was the breakfast, very very ordinary they could make more effort and it was the only area of the whole Hotel that people did not wear face coverings as recommanded and no effort by staff to correct this,
We found the hotel excellent they really had all things in place for covid and we felt very safe and well looked after bt their amazing staff. The location of the hotel is perfect too right in the middle of town with easy access ti shops etc.
Friendly welcomes and has all the facilities you will need in the middle of Wexford city
The hotel is in a great central location to enjoy all that Wexford town has to offer. The staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was well equipped and the restaurant served really good food. Despite the busy dining room at breakfast time the staff ran everything so smoothly.
Was there with a group of 10 really enjoyed our stay staff were very good and helpful working very hard durning covis to make it an enjoyable stay and very well organised even with been busy am going again august
Even with covid restriction this hotel gave us a great experience .Yes there were some limitations but nothing that caused a negative effect on our night away
Very clean. Staff friendly, efficient and helpful
Fabulous hotel. Lovely friendly and efficient staff. Would recommend this hotel ...we will be returning soon!
Had a lovely 2 night stay here with my wife & 2 children on the 30th June. Obviously, the hotel & staff etc were only just back open given the lifting of restrictions around covid etc. The check in process, distancing measures, sanitising stations etc were all effectively adhered to & catered for. The pool & gym were managed via a booking system with no issues. Breakfast & Meals were the same & all ran very smoothly. Ordering was straight forward & easy, there were no issues either with ordering more of anything either. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay. Staff & service was of a very high standard,no complaints whatsoever.
Whites Hotel staff, restaurant and food are exceptional. Our room could have done with updating as the chairs were quite tatty and stains on the carpet, but it did not take from the overall experience
Nice hotel, good rooms, spacious, great pool area, stay went very well but unfortunately very slow service in the restaurant and bar areas. Plenty of bar staff but was ignored for 10mins. Not enough staff in restaurant causing long delays and wrong orders. Food was just average and quite small portions with sharing veg/mash bowl.
Great hotel. Lovely staff and great food. Had a twin room only complaint the beds were very narrow so didn't sleep well.
enjoyed our stay at whites hotel accomadation good. food very good staff also over all good experience
Excellent hotel - great service - great facilities - great food - great staff
Fantastic Hotel, perfect location to walk around the town. Kids Friendly. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Rooms lovely and clean and very comfortable. Great View from the room and a super amazing deal with Lidl Breaks - thank you
Great hotel in a great location, staff are very helpful & friendly
my husband and I stayed 1 night for our anniversary. we found the Hotel really lovely and very comfortable, atmosphere great and staff so friendly. The food was very nice and breakfast was plentiful. Fantastic short break in a we will be back.
We had a wonderful time in every way. hotel was excellence .Lovely spot for shops pubs ect. I would say the waiter maybe should remind the guests if they are on a 2 course meal deal. We got a bill for desserts and some of us were not on the deal so it got a bit embarrassing.other than that it was super.. 5 Star.....
Great price, great hotel, great location, couldn't ask for more!
We booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Though we arrived early at 2.30pm our room was ready for us including the fridge we requested at short notice. Our room was on the 4th floor and had a lovely view towards the coast. Though a little worn in places, the room was perfectly clean and spacious with air conditioning. We were supposed to have a rollaway bed for the 2nd child but instead we had a proper bed added, which I much preferred. The kids loved the rice krispie buns left with a welcome note and details of the complimentary kids club too. All considered this break was excellent value and look forward to a return visit.
Very nice Hotel. Great Breakfast in the morning, swimming pool was great. Room was comfy and clean - everything you would want. Location is extremly central in Wexford Town. Endless pubs, shops and eateries to choose from. Would happily return for another visit.
Excellent Hotel well worth 5 stars
My wife and i stayed in this hotel for B&B and dinner on 21 December and we have nothing but great memories of our short stay. The food was excellent, the service was exemplary, the staff were courteous, friendly and highly efficient. The ambience of the hotel was very welcoming. We were so delighted with our stay in this hotel that we have decided to visit it again in the near future. Ciaran Shanahan
10//10
First class hotel. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Food was excellent from breakfast to dinner and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Good wifi throughout the hotel. No hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Clayton Whites hotel was above and beyond our expectations, from the reception desk to the room to the food, everything was first class. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very disappointed with the room I got on arrival I had requested rooms on the second floor as I had 2 rooms booked they only gave 1 room on the second floor and 1 room on the 5th floor when I asked to be moved to the second floor I was told there was none available (this was untrue as I had spoke with people that only arrived on Saturday and got a room on the 2nd floor. The room on the 5th floor was not what you would expect from a 4 Star Hotel. The cleaning of the room was not the best when I returned from shopping on the Saturday there was dirty water in the sink and I had to ask for toiletries. It was my Mum's 90th Birthday treat and I felt this put a dampner on it. That was my third stay in the hotel . Just to mention I was also told that because of the price I got a standard room that being the 5th Floor. I think this should be mentioned when making the booking. Very dissatisfied Customer.
Lovely hotel, food was brilliant. Will certainly be back.
Really good. Got top floor upgrade for 10 per night. Staff are great.
Excellent value for money. Brilliant location. Only one minor complaint, no hair dryer in the bedroom on arrival.
Great hotel and spa Gym not great though
Very smooth and friendly check in, comfortable beds in a very clean and modern room. Great food (dinner and breakfast) with great service from very caring staff. We'll be back.
I had selected this hotel as I had stayed here previously, but since my last stay I found the hotel standards dropped. When we arrived to check in our room wasn’t ready, we had arrived earlier and reception staff were very friendly and nice. They took our bags and said they would call us when the room was ready. We decided to have lunch in the bar, the food was good but the bar was a bit shabby. Some of the seats which were fabric covered were torn, the leather covered seats where worn and the table that was free was wobbly. Our food arrived and it was lovely. Shortly afterwards we got a call from reception that the room was ready. The room was clean, but the bed covers and the duvet were fairly worn and the duvet looked old and a bit grubby. The bathroom is ok but I can’t understand why there is no shower curtain or proper drain in the shower as the water goes all over the floor and you end up having to use the towel to try mop up the water on the floor. That night we decided to eat in the bar, we arrived at 9.20 and one of the waitress gave us a menu and said she had a few people to serve and she would be back to us. The bar was busy that evening so it wasn’t really an issue to wait, until the bar person told us that it was too late to order as the kitchen closed at 9.30, I was just about to say we have been here 10 mins but they she checked with the kitchen and it was ok to take our order. Our food arrived quickly and it was delicious. The next morning we went down for breakfast and the dining room was very busy but we were given a table quickly. The breakfast room was again shabby, our seats were slightly to low for the table, the cutlery and tea cups weren’t properly cleaned, we had to take cutlery from another table. The breakfast bowls and plates were also grubby, it a combination of the plates being well used, as they felt slightly gritty but some of them still had food on them. I had to put a number of bowls and plates aside to find a clean one and I also noticed that that other guests who seen food on bowls were trying to wipe them but when they could they were just putting them back into the plies. I was going to say it to the manageress but she wasn’t at the desk when we were leaving the dining room. The spa was closed for essential maintenance. It wasn’t a major issue but it was one of the reasons I booked this hotel, so it might be an idea to have this on the site when booking.
We stayed in The Clayton White hotel for three nights last week. It was a lovely hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly, every place was spotless and the food was great. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Quality of food good but not hot enough. Reception Staff & Bar Staff not very friendly .
Room not nice and dinner was very bad
The value with Lidl breaks was unbeatable. The Clayton Whites Hotel was a lovely experience, staff were very professional and friendly, and the food didn't disappoint. I will definitely return.
Excellent hotel
Very nice stay at Whites Hotel, staff were excellent as was the food. The rooms, bathrooms in particular could do with an upgrade. Apart from that its the best location in town.
I stayed in Whites for one night over the weekend. I paid extra to be upgraded to a superior room but there was nothing superior about it. We had an option to pick the Italian or the Terrace restaurant. We went for the Italian and it was horrible, very few dishes to select from and the food we ordered wasn't great. The room was clean but it was bit of a trek between the reception and our room. I personally wouldn't rate this as a four star hotel. The hotel is in a great location and is central to some great local pubs and right beside the shops.
Fantastic stay. Beautiful hotel with better breakfast than I would expect in a 5 star hotel. All staff were very helpful and especially the bar staff who went out their way to ensure guests were happy. I would prefer Irish reception staff and they could be a little friendlier as it is the 1st impression that guests receive. Also, I believe that the car park should be free. Other than these few points, we really enjoyed our stay and will be back again.
Absolutely fab break had by us all. The food was excellent, staff very friendly and very helpfull. Entertainment in the lounge very good. Leisure centre very clean and staff also very friendly. As we had children in our group we also noticed the hotel is very spacious and child friendly. Will definitely be going back.
Great location friendly staff excellent food and great hotel facilities will stay again in the future
Great hotel, great location, but the jewel in the crown of Whites is its staff whom we have always found to be very helpful
Had a lovely relaxing stay at Whites Hotel, the room was nice and spacious, breakfast was lovely, staff very friendly. Would recommend the afternoon tea with the bubbly - it was well worth the price.
Had a relaxing stay in Whites last week.In the room on arrival found the phone not to be working and the TV remote had no batteries however this was quickly addressed by a very pleasent manager who for the inconvenience furnished us with a complimentary bottle of wine.Food wise, you could'nt fault the menu, and the service was prompt and efficient! overall a very satisfactory experience.
Lovely hotel, fabulous food and staff could not be nicer.great deals available for spa also would definitely stay again
we had a lovely stay at whites the staff were very helpful and the food was great ,would stay again
Great location in the centre of town. Smooth check in and room was very spacious and spotless clean. We had dinner included and found staff to be very courteous and efficient. Food was very good also. Breakfast can be a bit chaotic as everything in the buffet is spread out quite far apart so it could take a while to actually sit down. All in all would definitely to back and we enjoyed our stay.
Overall pleased with hotel.lovely bright and spacious Food good staff friendly will return very centre for town
We had a wonderful stay in Whites. Full marks to the staff, they couldn't have been nicer. It was an exceptionally good value break - dinner and breakfast were lovely, I coudn't fault the room and we had full use of the gym & swimming pool. It was cheaper and far more fun than staying at home!
I enjoyed my stay in Whites . It is very central . I particularly enjoyed the Spa . I had a blissful hour there.I think the only issue I really had was the concept of a 'Superior room' ? which I opted for with a ten euro extra charge. I usually take the view that most people do not spend time in a hotel room anyway but I had decided because the weather was changeable I would have the added pleasure of a nicer room .I felt it was fairly standard to be honest. Anyway it was nice to see the hotel had a bit of a buzz in the lobby. There were plenty of staff on duty and all were pleasant.
Lovely hotel and staff. No complaints there. Dropped one star because I'm vegetarian and the meal I had in the restaurant was a rather sad affair, ie. the usual hotel vegetarian option-bland pasta with chunks of peppers and onions in a tomato sauce. The menu always tries hard to 'posh' it up with a description like, 'Tagliatelle with rustic vegetables au tomato ragout and drizzled with basil blaa blaa blaa .
Lovely hotel complex in the middle of the town, clean rooms, spa (as resident you can get better rate ), swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym free use for residents, breakfast included. Very good value for the money. Superb rate for the parking if resident. Highly recommended.
Whites Hotel is a lovely Hotel all good, in very good location. We did find one of the reception staff no so good or accommodating but she didn't spoil our stay all other staff members very nice
Very enjoyable and relaxed top classr
Great location, clean hotel, very friendly staff in all areas. Found superior bedroom a bit small but was still lovely. Meal was very nice. And they added a nice touch with chocolates and strawberries in our room on a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate - a pleasant surprise. Leisure center was lovely. Great value on Today FM Breaks. will be booking with ye again. Kind Regards, Ashling Dunne.
Had a lovely over night stay in Whites of Wexford would highly recommend Whites and Lidl for the super break!
A very large but nice hotel indeed, modern slick, stylish...really. The bedroom was lovely, and very comfortable, bright and clean, breakfast was excellent too. the only issue in the very hot weather was the window wouldn't open and the air conditioning wouldn't go below 19degrees, so I found it too warm at night. However when I complained they did their best to improve the situation. We were simply a little unluck with our room. BUT talk about value for money...I highly recommend it. The location is superb, and wexford is a lovely small town.
Clean good food.
Stayed in Whites Hotel for 3 nights b&b and 1 evening meal. Had a great few days and found the hotel and staff great in all departments. Will recommend to friends and family and look forward to staying again. Nothing to complain about at all. Thanks.
Hi, My wife & I stayed for 3 nights for a much needed break. We had a lovely relaxing time and felt really refreshed on departure and this was thanks to the great service that was provided by Whites of wexford. The Staff are excellent, food was fab, rooms were very comfortable & spacious and the location of the hotel was ideal, right in the middle of wexford. All in all we had a great break and will definately be back again this year, highly recommended.
Thank you Whites of Wexford for a fabulous stay. My family and I stayed for 1 night. The location is great. You step out of reception and into the heart of Wexford town. The hotel is lovely, reception, the restaurants and bar areas are all very open planned whilst cleverly very individual areas. Our room was very spacious and clean. The 'z' bed for our youngest was a little lumpy, but that would be the worst thing. Our bed was very comfortable. Room included all you could want...tea/coffee, an empty mini bar...space for my kids own drinks, iron, complimentary toiletries and enough towels for the whole family without having to request more. The food - our deal included dinner, we upgraded to the å la carte menu for an extra €5.00 the food was fantastic...beautful! The staff, reception, chambermaids, restaurant and bar...everyone was very pleasant, most helpful when asked for assistance and in general made this a great stay. Thank you to you all. The leisure facility was clean and modern enough, just a shame the staff here are not quite of the same calibre as the rest of the hotel.
Fabulous hotel, very accomdating staff, will definitely stay again
We were disappointed with the room on arrival, told by a very nice Recptionest we could get an upgrade for 5 euro each ,Magic,if there was a cancellation,we were told they were fully booked out .half an hour later I got a call to say we were been upgraded to an Executive Suite,on the 5th Floor of the new building,.The room was magnificent, top class. We changed and got ready for Dinner, had a lovely bite to eat in the Library Bar,entertainment and drinks, great evening. The Staff could not have been nicer ,great manners from all levels of Management, the nicest food we have eaten ever, thoroughly recommend the Hotel t anyone
Great value for money. We had one night b&b and 1 dinner. Dinner very basic but Breakfast was fantastic. Kept us going for the day . If both of you are having breakfast together a handy tip would be for one of you to do the toast while the other orders breakfast (carvery style). When we were there queue for toaster . Put the do not disturb sign on your door at night . Housekeeping came knocking at 9am even though we didn't have to check out till midday. Try the fish pedicure , great value 10 euro for 15 mins.
very pleased with whites hotel. The staff were helpful and happy. Dinner excellent, breakfast with plenty of variety. We got a room change as we requested a quite room, would stay there again and recommend the hotel to my friends brian rating 5 star
Whites of Wexford is one of the nicest hotels that I have ever stayed in. From the location to the excellent food and service it is second to none. Enjoyed my stay tremendously. Star Rating 5.
Great family hotel! Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean and spacious rooms.
Good Value. Hotael clean tidy staff helpful and friendly
Great location. Disappointed with location of our rooms. Asked for sea view and got confirmation that we had but not so. Awful view even though I booked well in advance. I stayed in this hotel before and I think we must have been given rooms in a more modern part than this time. Long walk for my feeble 87yr old mother. Never offered a wheel chair. Corridor carpets dirty. Rooms were not adjacent as requested. One of the bedside lamps did not work. TV3 not working and had to ring reception to find that out. Toilet rolls not replenished on first day. Entertainment & food very good. Overall I felt the hotel had gone down since I stayed before and in general the hotel was a little jaded. Noticed courtyard could have been maintained ie flower tubs, hanging baskets etc. Location of SPA not really suitable for a mobile challenged person so there should be some way of making it easier to bring them there to make the experience more relaxing as this was the whole point of our break. She had to walk ages and climb steps. The alternative seemed to entail even more walking. Also in general signage very poor. It was like a mystery tour finding the various areas.
May 2014. No problems with service. Very helpful and friendly staff, especially those at reception. However, 'standard room' was a big disappointment. Very small to start off with and the bathroom really wasn't that of a 4 star hotel at all with many basic facilities missing (e.g. no shampoo or body wash in containers in shower, no bin). Also the shower didn't work properly and had no curtain or screen to prevent water from splashing out over rest of bathroom. Food (i.e. breakfast and afternoon tea) was average. Not many healthy options.
very comfortable, clean. excellent breakfast and evening meal. helpful reception staff.
May 2014 - We booked a very good deal the night before our arrival. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel, bar, restaurant and leisure facilities (we have booked similar deals elsewhere which have not been as satisfactory). The hotel is modern and bright, the lobby, coffee dock and bar areas are spacious with plenty of seating enabling you to relax and watch the world go by. The hotel is also very centrally located, ideal for shopping. Very good value for money, would definitely return!
very comfortable, clean. excellent breakfast and evening meal. helpful reception staff.
Wonderful stay, staff were lovely and food was excellent. However I was disappointed with the twin room - the beds were way too narrow for adults. MR Kildare
had a wonderful stay , hotel fab, room great and food was excellent. We had stayed in whites 33 years ago on our honeymoon but my god what a change.I will tell all my friends about LIDL-BREAKS a great experience and easey website to book. teena casey
Great stay, fully recommend
Most disappointed that they had no gluten free bread for 2 of our 3 days there. Also disappointed there is a E3 over night parking charge that we were not informed of in advance.
Fantastic hotel. Loved it. Went with husband and 2 children. Kids club each morning. Boys loved it. Pool great. Had full body pregnancy massage. Amazing.
Food was lovely, staff were very friendly and attentive, however I have stayed in this hotel a number of times and I felt that standards had slipped. The bathroom floor in our room had not been hoovered and generally the four star rating is high considering other alternatives. However for the price the hotel and location cannot be beaten.
Great value, great breakfast, great experience, really enjoyed the music in the bar. Cant wait to go back.
Whites have an excellent staff that looked after us very well on out LIDL break. Breakfast was lovely, with a great selection . The rooms are very spacious and I cannot fault the building and its comfort.
Yet another pleasant stay in white's hotel , friendly atmosphere lovely staff and would recommend the hotel to family and friends
the hotel was absolutely fabulous!! we truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again. the hotel was kept busy which was a good sign as we loved the buzz. we also had a 3 coarse meal included in our stay which was beautiful. the breakfast was also beautiful with a wide range of choices to choose from. the staff in the hotel were so friendly that we even had a great laugh with them during our meal time. so helpful and would get you anything you requested. the leisure center was so relaxing even though the spa was fully booked i will be back to try it out again.
This was my second time to stay through lidl breaks in Whiltes Hotel Wexford and once again the hotel reached a high standard from reception on arrival to departure. Although we only stayed the one night we had a lovely time, all staff were extremely friendly, rooms are nice, food in restaurant was much improved since our last stay and couldnt be faulted this time. Music was excellent in bar however I thought Malibu at €5.80 a shot was extremely overpriced but it was a once off so it didnt matter. All in all I am looking forward to staying there again soon as the hotel has a central location for shopping and visiting lots of pubs.
I know there are nice rooms in the hotel but when you book a deal we got put in a room with bad view, poor bathroom and the air con couldn't heat the room.
Centrally located in town centre....spent 3 nights without moving car from car park underneath hotel. Availed of leisure facilities which was most relaxing. Food excellent in bar and main restaurant and reasonable for what was presented. Plenty of space to unwind and relax in hotel reception and coffee dock area. Rooms spacious with all facilities provided.
