Great three night break nice large room excellent food and service we enjoyed both the pool and the gym would it all again. The staff are really helpful after mislaying a clothing item it was found and sent on to us thank you.
We really enjoyed our stay in Jacksons Hotel. The food was absolutely beautiful and very good value for money. The room was a little outdated but extremely clean. Staff were very friendly from the minute we arrived. The pool area was very clean. Overall we very much enjoyed our family break in Jacksons and hope to return in the future.
Had a lovely stay at the hotel. Only complaint really was the breakfast. We stayed for three mornings and went to breakfast twice. Both times, there was no fruit left and we had to wait over fifteen minutes as the hot breakfast was also missing. We spoke to the girl on reception about this and she asked what time we went to breakfast at. We went at the times breakfast was advertised at. If there is going to be no food available, then the breakfast shouldn't be advertised at that time. Also, the service in the bar is so slow. The staff certainly don't rush themselves. All in all, the hotel itself is lovely and we had a lovely room with a great view of the lake, it is very central to Ballybofey and in a lovely area.
Very lovely and family friendly Hotel. Grate and specious swimming pool. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and well presented. All our family enjoined stay.
Great family hotel. A bit old but the service and food was very good. The kids enjoyed the pool. Will recommend this for a family break.
excellent food , breakfast, restaurant and bar food. freindly helpful staff. clean and tidy rooms. couldn,t fault it !
Stayed 1 night in hotel. It was quite good and was enjoyable. New area of hotel was a long walk away. Good food and everything was very reasonably priced. Even drinks in bar were very reasonable compared with some other hotels. Nice music and atmosphere in bar. Didnt like to see dog in foyer lying on couch while owners ate and drank for some hours. Thinking about hairs he would have shed and somebody having to sit on couch afterwards. That was only negative thing about our stay.
Stayed for one night over the August bank holiday weekend. Family room very large. Very friendly and helpful staff and good kids club. Food was good and swimming pool was good. I will return and I would highly recommend this hotel for families.
We stayed overnight in the Jackson Hotel and loved the experience. The staff were lovely and helpful and nothing was too much for them to do for us. The room was big, clean and nicely decorated. Would love to go back!!!!!
The facility was not up to standard for 4 star hotel, the bed was soft, the shower was worse, it took long to get hot water. The breakfast is not as good as we expected, especially we had some bread overdue one morning. But the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Stayed for two nights over the May bank holiday weekend. Food was lovely and family room very large. Very friendly staff and hotel room was quiet at night. Only gripe was that the old part of the hotel was very confusing in places and a bit tired looking. Ask to stay in the new part if you can!
Enjoyed the overnight stay. Staff friendly & helpful. Food was good. Nice big family room. Warm & comfortable. Leisure facilities were good. Good location in Ballybofey with McElhinneys & other shops just a minutes stroll away. I am aware that the hotel recently went into receivership. I have family connections to the hotel so its good to see it continuing to operate. The small issues I would have are that the bar seats could do with refurbishment and the shower in the bathroom wasnt great but it worked well enough for us.
Excellent hotel with really friendly staff apart from night Porter who refused to make us a cocktail, was ok the other barman who was about to just finish his shift, stayed and made cocktails for us. This was around 7pm, didnt believe it was too late for cocktails. Apart from that really lovely.
Although the rooms we had could use a facelift they were clean and comfortable. The radiator in one of the rooms would not turn off and even with the windows open the room was sweltering hot. This was rectified the next day. In the other room there was a 'shower cap' over the Smoke Alarm which was reported to reception on the day of arrival and again on our second day. We stayed for four days and the shower cap had not been removed. In my humble opinion that would constitute a breach of Health and Safety regulations. During our stay there had been a coach load of visitors and on the day they left only one bed in our room was made, two hand towels were removed from the bathroom - they were not dirty and would certainly have been used again had they left them insitu but they removed them from the bathroom. Our room window was left wide open (the safety latch was disengaged). In our friends room their hand towels were removed too and not replaced - again they did not need replaced just left in the bathroom would have been good. We assumed this was because they seemed to be working with only a skeleton staff and they were obviously being pushed to get all the coach visitors rooms cleaned after they left. On a happier note the staff were courteous and polite. The food was excellent and plentiful.
Did not enjoy my stay..Had to move room straight away because toilet broken. rooms need upgrade as very shaby. Food not up to standard..would have got better from a street vendor at Galway races
Booking dates incorrect. No heating in the room. We enquired at reception and were told that it was being attended to. The maintenance man arrived to fix it. It appeared to be that the heating only came on in the morning as the radiator was barely warm in the evening. Room was not serviced on a daily basis. Staff were very nice. Hotel needs updating.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here Staff could not have been more helpful Lidl price greEar value
The Food was not up to standard for a 4 star hotel. The room needs a make over it was very shabby. We had half a toilet role for the first night and we had to ask for another toilet role. The entertainment on the Friday night was deplorable. I have stayed in a lot of Irish hotels over the last 20 years and this was the worst.
Very enjoyable. The staff where nice and friendly, Sinead on the desk was very helpful to us. Hotel was nice.
Whilst the staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was of excellent quality, do not come here for a quiet relaxing stay. Our room was extremely noisey due to the wooden floors on our floor. The noise from the room upstairs was unbearable and the noise from a dog in the room next to us was constant. I spoke to the receptionist when I was leaving only to be told that there was no dog staying in the room - there was a dog as we saw it go into the room. The receptionist could have dealt with our complaint a lot better.
I would really like to recommend this hotel to everyone thinking of staying in Donegal. The hotel staff are extremely lovely and could not do enough for you. This is 100% Irish run hotel and there are not to many hotels you can say that about and this truly shows during your visit. I want to say a big thank you to the kids club team my daughter had a ball. Overall this hotel may only be a 3 star but without doubt the service is 5 star, one again a thank you for a enjoyable stay
We stayed 3 nights in the hotel over the Irish June bank Holiday weekend, we were a bit disappointed with the hotel, it has a new and an old part, the new part looks fantastic but the old part is a mix of different styles and ranges from worn carpets to tile to timber floors, with little or no contintinuity. The pool was fine but it all looked a bit shabby and need some investment to upgrade it to be more modern. The room we had was very big but with a small floor and the housekeeping on Sunday was very poor with the bed been left not well made and no soap in the bath dispenser, the in room iron didn't work and the TV was tiny and that far away from the bed - u could need binoculars to see it. The staff food were good but the venue needs updating
Hotel highly recommended. Staff pleasant and helpful. Room was lovely, comfortable and warm. Food nice. Will be back!!.
Enjoyed our stay------------staff excellent ,friendly. Would stay again surely. Could improve menu -dinner-better choice ?
