Travel Description :
Area Description : This beautiful seaside town situated on Northern Irelands wild Atlantic coast dates back to around the 12th or 13th century and records show that the area was occupied as far back as the late Mesolithic period. From around the middle of the 1600s, Portrush became, like many other coastal towns and villages a fishing town and it wasnt until the late 1800s that tourism put Portrush firmly on the map. It is now one of the most popular resorts in Northern Ireland for tourists who wish to soak up the history of the place and enjoy some of the many attractions that Portrush has to offer.
It was our first time staying at the Atlantic Hotel. Unfortunately the fabric of the building is a little tired but apparently its getting an upgrade. Its absolutely spotless though so all credit to the housekeeping team. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the waiter was really friendly and the food lovely. Breakfast was a huge disappointment though. We'd been told the breakfast slots were 8.15 and 9.45 so expected breakfast to be cooked to order. Two bored waitresses told us it was all self service and so we'd to get our own drinks, make our own toast etc and they served a very average cooked breakfast from a hot buffet. The continental selection was again, average. A fruit bowl, white or brown pan loaf, croissants (missing completely on our 2nd morning), cereal, yoghurt and berries. The whole experience felt like a let down. On checking out we were going to mention breakfast but we weren't even asked how our stay was so we didn't bother. Sorry Atlantic Hotel but I don't think we'll return.
Our room was bright and clean. Breakfast service was great and good portions. All the staff were freindly.
Good hotel great breakfast carpets could do with being cleaned. Needs another lift
Food was ok could be better drinks a little expensive.location in village is very good.hotel staff were very nice .
Friendly staff and decent rates with lidlhotels…fab location although rooms could do with a refurb…Breakfast 6/10 and bar area 8/10….I would stay again
Lovely friendly staff throughout the hotel. The food was good too. The only criticism I would make is that the bathroom could do with a good deep clean - a lot of dirt/black mould around the tap sink and around the shower screen. Not a criticism of the cleaning staff as realise they have limited time to clean rooms and change bedding.
Just love Lidl breaks this is the third time I have used it to stay at the Atlantic hotel Portrush Great location friendly staff at that price am going back again in November great to support local hotels through the winter months
Restaurant and bar staff excellent, disappointed that reception did not forward a request for a dietary requirement to the kitchen.
Just love the hotel so central staff so friendly stay there many many times am going back next week as it’s such a great offer
Well positions hotel in centre of Portrush. Good sized room with beautiful sea view. Very friendly and helpful staff on front desk. A nice cooked breakfast but would have liked some croissants as well.
Lovely clean room .Great food. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay would highly recommend this hotel.
We were lucky to get a sea view with this deal, the room was spacious and clean. the bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean and toasty warm, after reading the reviews about parking made me anxious, but we were lucky enough to get parked at the hotel which has limited spaces. The receptionist was informative and very helpful, the staff are pleasant and nothing was too much bother. there was entertainment but that finished at 10pm, a bit too early. The breakfast was good. Overall a nice hotel the furniture in room a bit dated and checkout is 11am.I enjoyed my stay but I would not have liked to stay at the prices from the hotel and other comparison sites quoted.
Lovely hotel although bedrooms a little tired staff very helpful and friendly
Friendly staff with great service. Room was clean and had the most amazing view. Visited last year and this year again. Will 100% be back
Very pleasant hotel, staff were very helpful, bedroom a good size, bathroom a bit dated. All in all I would have no problem recommending this hotel.
Great value Loved the hotel and the easy booking system Will definitely recommend Lidl breaks will book again for another Have already told friends and family Have stayed in the hotel many times excellent

Great hotel, very reasonable price, very welcoming staff, good food and right beside the beach. Couldn't ask for anything more. We will be back!
Hotel was clean, staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and spacous with enough space to keep my mobility boot scooter in the room without getting in the way. The room smelt fresh on entering and the hotel food was fine. I would stay again.
Two positives stand to this Hotel. 1. The location. Ideally situated right in the centre of town. Walking distance to all amenities. But the early parker get a space in the hotel carpark! 2. The staff. Sadly only in reviews and personal thank yous do staff get commended. The reception team were so helpful when we complained that room 104 has noisy due to most likely an outdoor boiler and chimney. We were immediately moved to a new room 123 with an nice sea view. The staff implemented and adhered to all Corona regulations in a perfect manner. This added confidence to our trip. The hotel itself needs a good overhaul having depreciated over the years. The restaurant could also do with new menu ideas and regeneration - still our breakfast was amble to prepare us for days of adventure around the wonderful Portrush region! Low rating to reflect the condition of the building, small carpark, and the quality of the restaurant. We will return and recommend regardless of the low rating!
Staff were so welcoming and friendly at reception, in the restaurant and at the bar. This is a lovely hotel, very clean and bright. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Great location. Friendly staff an spotless
Beautiful hotel. Great view and lovely breakfast
Friendly staff. Good food reasonably priced. Room was good , sea views. Only small issues is that the TV had limited channel options.
Very central to bus/trains station. Rooms spacious and bathroom so cosy..although only one of each soap etc for 2 adults..and 1packet of biscuits for 2 adults.. A little mean..
Considering the circumstances the hotel was clean, well organised and smoothly run. Staff were excellent, breakfasts good and as ever the location and car park great.
