Front desk staff were friendly and helpful as well as efficient. Room was clean but except some spider nets were hanging at two corners up above the beds. Otherwise it should be very clean.

I would highly recommend this hotel. It was a fantastic few days. The staff, from reception, bar/restaurant and house keeping, we're friendly and helpfull. The food was fabulous. Great location, near a beach, we were lucky to be there during the heat wave.

Mid-Week Break I had a lovely two night stay in the Bracken Court Hotel this week. The room allocated to me was big and spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable for a good nights sleep. You get a very filling breakfast in this hotel: fruit juices, fruits and the full Irish or a vegetarian option of it if you prefer. The staff were lovely and willing to go the extra mile for their guests. The hotel is within five minutes walk to a fabulous beach and harbour which was lovely to visit in our current heatwave. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends and I hope to visit again soon. Thank you Team Bracken.

We had a great time at the Bracken Court during the week. We didn’t stay around the hotel during the day as we were out are Dublin and Tayto Pk. It’s not too far from the centre of Dublin or Tayto pk. So it’s a good base. We had dinner both nights in the bar....it was absolutely fantastic. Our room was huge only thing it was very very hot in the room and the windows could only open a smidgen. Breakfast was also fantastic and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The kids got pancakes that had to be made for them specially and they were divine. The only thing that was a bit annoying was our key card never worked. From check in then the next day had to go to reception twice as it wasn’t working again. And up and down 3 flights of stairs every time was a pain. But we would definitely stay there again.

I given this hotel two stars and that is just for the staff, other than that my stay was terrible, the Bed which is the most Important part of your stay was just awful the first nigh the springs where coming up through the matress and in the morning I had asked for the it to be changed well I was sorry I did as the matress they put on the second night was just as bad if not worse it was so bad that we ended up sleeping on the floor and chair at 4.30am , I did however mention it to the reception in the morning and she said they where in the process of changing all of the beds but unfortuanlty they did not get around to this room which is not good enough as in my opinion is the most important in the hotel stay.

Anne scored 4 / 5 on 06/09/2017

lovely hotel, staff were fantastic, food was very good, and as for the room?buying through lidl at a budget price we half expected a pokey wee double room,we couldnt have been more wrong, our room was massive, more like a mini suite, very large ensuite bathroom, loads of space in the sleeping area and at the far end a sofa and chair to relax.couldnt fault our stay here.

A pleasant stay in a comfortable and understated older style hotel. The staff were good and the food appetising. We intend to return for a few days to explore this part of the coast.

Leighmarston scored 1 / 5 on 28/05/2015

I would be intrigued to know how the star ratings are made up in the hotel industry as this particular establishment would not merit 1 !!!! appreciating how much the break cost but the cooked breakfast was almost inedible & it would be nice if there was a roaming random hotel inspector whilst we were there sampling the food we had as the set dinner served in the bar was lacking in choices & taste & if you wanted veg or a side 4 euro extra & 6 for the sirloin???whilst balbriggan may well be on the coast it is not in my opinion the most desirable off visiting towns for guests ?

Allison scored 4 / 5 on 02/09/2014

Had a wonderful stay in the Bracken Court Hotel. We had booked through Todayfm breaks and when we arrived at our hotel we were told we were being upgraded to a suite for no apparent reason. We were thrilled as we were up on the top floor with a balcony going right around the suite. We had views of the sea and also the town as it was a corner suite. Beds were unbelievably comfortable - the best I have been in and I have stayed in a lot of hotels, dressing gowns and slippers in the wardrobe and extra pillows. Bathroom was spacious with power shower and our lounge was like home from home with a big tv and comfortable seating. When we went to breakfast the following morning the range of food was fantastic. It's the first time I have seen freshly baked loaves of bread (brown and white) that you cut yourself, bowls of fresh fruit salad, jugs of smoothies, a bowl of seeds, croissants, cheeses, cold meats, cereals, dried figs and then you went up and got your cooked breakfast served with tea or coffee and a plate of toast. Amazing variety and we were set up for the rest of the day. Staff we lovely, welcoming and cheerful. Hotel itself is old but well kept and I really couldn't fault the place at all. Unfortunately we could only stay 1 night but I would definitely stay again and recommend it. Well done Bracken Court. Thumbs up.

Decent hotel, only issue is that i have never before been in a bathroom where there is absolutely no shelf or surround to the sink to place any items on, just never seen that before. Everything else was fine.

Stayed at the bracken court hotel recently and have to say i was very disappointed with it. The room we booked was fine, spacious and clean, however for a 4 star rated hotel i would expect a higher standard as regards decor and cleanliness. However my main problem was with the noise i had to endure during my stay, there was a wedding on the first night and between the noise of the disco and people smoking outside and to top it all a fire alarm going off after 3 in the morning kids didn't sleep till 4 and to be honest i didn't get any. I complained during the night, got nowhere, and again in the morning at which time i was informed that there was 2 more parties that night. I asked to be moved but i was told there was nothing available. An hour later i went once again to reception and told them i was checking out due mainly to the lack of sleep and the potential lack of sleep and it was only then was i told i may get a different room. Needless to say i didn't want to take my chances and left. While i understand these functions take place but i think it would have be nice to inform guests of them , especially those who are not involved in them!!! So i wont go back to the hotel in any hurry. I think 4 star rating is far too much for it. It clearly needs to pull up its socks and upgrade in every aspect to retain 4 star status

Net scored 4 / 5 on 13/06/2014

Really nice hotel. Very friendly staff. Rooms were a good size but the bed in my room was lumpy and uncomfortable. this was the only fault I had with the hotel. Dinner and breakfast were included in our Lidl breaks deal. Dinner was in the bar from The Bracken Grill menu and it was outstanding. I can't believe that we got a meal of this standard included in a deal with b&b at €49 p.p.

Linda scored 5 / 5 on 30/04/2014

We attended my nephews wedding on the 25 April, and stayed overnight, food was beautiful, and all of the staff are so friendly and helpful, we also had our wedding there last year, and can't say enough good things about it, the staff even remembered us from last year! Very relaxed atmosphere, looking forward to our complimentary anniversary stay in a few weeks

Gloria scored 2 / 5 on 28/04/2014

Five of us stayed last week at this hotel and overall it was just ok. The food was reasonable, rooms average but our one big problem was that the bedrooms really stank of cigarette smoke. We mentioned to reception and they said they were still a smoking hotel but were working on it.Inside the hotel was very clean but the outside entrance area was very dirty and again containers on the walls were overflowing with cigarette ends. I would rate this hotel a 2 star and I do not understand the other raving reviews, as this was the reason I booked this hotel and I was quite disappointed.

Very friendly and helpful staff, rooms warm and very comfortable. Bathroom with bath and walk in shower , and selection of toiletries, breakfast was a very good selection. Prices very reasonable in the bar considering it's a hotel, pleasantly surprised, and if your at a wedding here the food is very very good, and plenty of it. Would definitely return

Room was spacious, however dated. One of the bathrooms could not be used due to a broken shower door, however this was only advised to us a few hours after our arrival by housekeeping. There was also a foul smell throughout the room and we bought scented candles to mask the smell for the duration of our stay. Food was fine. Overall, disappointed.

We had an absolute fantastic 2 nites at the Bracken Court. Food was second to none, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My husband our 9 year old daughter and myself stayed at the Bracken Court hotel for a weekend break to celebrate our daughters 9th birthday. Can't fault the staff they were very pleasant. We ate in the grill bar the first night and the food was superb. We were there on a 2 night b&b and 1 evening meal. The evening meal on the second night was average. Well presented but I personally prefer to eat of a plate and not a bread board, which is what my food came on. The breakfast was chucked on our plates by a grumpy chef..... Not nice. Our room was 307. The first night is was so hot in it we didn't have a good nights sleep at all. We reported this to the front desk who got the radiator fixed the next morning. The window in our room didn't open up to the fresh air outside, instead it opened up into a dome covered area which seemed to be an area where people went to have a smoke if they were at a function. The function that night being a 40th birthday party. So smoke drifted up into our room, we had to close the window. We won't be going back to the Bracken Court. We've stayed at much nicer hotels for the same cost.

Hotel is lovely. Reception staff were very busy and hence it wasnt as welcoming as we hoped for. However the restaurante staff made up for it. They were so helpful and friendly. We had ordered a bottle of wine and on our last glass my husband knocked his glass and spilled the remainder so the staff replaced it with a full glass on the house... Food excellent. Rooms big and nicely decorated

Really enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Rooms were a great size and the dinner was very good. Breakfast was just ok. Would definitely stay there again....

WOW what can I say! we had a fantastic stay in the Bracken Court, there were 4 ladies ranging in age from 23 to 80 and all of us were so pleased with the level of service from the staff at reception to the bedrooms( 2 twin rooms) which were so roomy and spacious and spotless, to the food which was superb. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and it is so accessible to Dublin if you want shopping and it is also right beside the sea.

In my opinion, this hotel doesn't qualify as a 4 stat hotel!! We were very disappointed with our stay here. Cleanness of our room was terrible. Our room was very very small. The tv in our room didn't work, none of the stations worked. We reported this to reception and nothing was done. However the food here was very nice. There was a nice selection for breakfast. The bar staff were very friendly.

Stayed here with 8 other couples from work. Food was good but could have being better, (you get what you pay for). Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Hotel is in great condition. Unfortunately there is no entertainment in the bar on friday nights, we had to go around to O'Shays. The hotel's own web site and city deals have much better deals than Lidl-Breaks. Worth trying these first.

From the moment we walked into Reception and were greeted with a warm welcome, to the beautiful room we stayed in, the comfort of the bar/lounge area, the delicious dinner in the restaurant, we knew we had made the right choice staying here. The staff could not do enough for you or be friendlier. We got breakfast to the room and it arrived on time, piping hot and exactly what we ordered. The room was immaculate and very comfortable with a large bathroom. Our only regret was that we did not book two nights! Will definitely be back, 5 star treatment at a budget price. October 2011.

There is a bit of road noise from the road, but that can't be helped as the hotel is on the main street. Is is a great base to explore Dublin, and the northern towns. I will stay there again.
