The Armada Hotel is on a wonderful site, facing out to sea. The outdoor area has several groups of benches to enjoy the views on a fine day, with Gull cafe nearby for your coffee. Service in the hotel was excellent, not just efficient, but friendly too. The rooms are very well equipped, the mini-fridge for the jug of milk is very welcome. The one disappointment is the lack of a swimming pool. Breakfast provided a great variety of foods, both hot and cold, with again great service.
Lovely hotel with amazing location……
Fab hotel Food staff everything really lovely
Beautiful setting beautiful food
Staff, room, dining all top class, really enjoyed our stay!
Could do better with social distancing, lot of tables are cramped together.
Just returned from 3 fabulous nights in the Armada. The location was beautiful and the staff were so friendly and helpful. In spite of all the covid restrictions ( which were adhered to at all times ), it was a relaxing break away. Excellent food too. ????
Nice hotel, friendly staff. Not the best choice of drinks seemed to be out of a lot. Nice views.
Fab Hotel...100% reccommend it..
Very nice hotel and beautiful location by the coast. Food, both breakfast and dinner, were very good also.
Very nice hotel, and beautiful location by the coast. The food at breakfast and dinner was very good.
Great hotel,Excellent staff and bar menu. Would highly recommend a visit will be returning.????????
I can't rate the Armada highly enough. The staff were all so welcoming, friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was top notch. The scallops and seabass dish was absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the cosy bar with its open fire and the whole place is just so relaxing. It was lovely to see Irish made products in the bathroom too. Already looking forward to a return visit. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay so pleasant and memorable.
The staff in the hotel were friendly and efficient. The breakfast we had the next morning was the best ever and the waitress kindly gave us a table overlooking the sea. Would definitely revisit - Atlantic ocean views were just stunning.
Our first visit to this area and hotel. Fantastic experience, from the moment we arrived to our leaving. We we looked after 2nd to none. The staff were very friendly, we arrived before check in time, and no problem. We had a beautiful and very filling meal in their restaurant. The staff were LOVELY, very friendly and polite. Breakfast the next morning was Brilliant!! Homemade scones, homemade bread, jams. Lovely choice of Sausages. Overall a wonderful experience. The view, the proximity to the beach etc.. Top Class. Would Highly recommend.
Had a great time in this gem of a hotel in a wonderful location. We stayed in a newly decorated room which was fab.All staff were friendly and helpful, great food and a really cosy bar. Will definitely return in the future.
Had a fab night here from early check in to checking out all went extremely well. This hotel is in a fantastic spot and ticks all the boxes. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and efficient.
we were disappointed and would not stay there again . there was a smell of cigarettes in the room , I complained , We would have to pay 10E each to move room . they are not superior rooms . The bed was very uncomfortable . The Steak -5Euro supplement was not a rib eye as the menu said . It was overcooked even though we asked for medium rare . We would not recommend it to our friends or would not go back again . 2 star
The Armada Hotel was extremely good. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly Receptionist who was very helpful and welcoming. Our room was very pleasant and with all the facilities as detailed by the hotel. We had dinner in the Restaurant and it was lovely. Breakfast was excellent. We were very happy with our stay there and would book another break for the Armada in the future. Hotel Staff were very helpful and friendly.
A really nice hotel, fantastic location, very friendly staff, great food, definitely will return,
Really enjoyed our stay at the Armada, great friendly service and excellant food. Perfect for a short winter break, would definitely go back. Bernie
Great spot. Lovely food and helpful service. Will go again!!
The location of this hotel is wonderful. The staff are friendly and the food is lovely. I did book a family room and was given a triple, which was unfortunate. I asked for a sea view and unfortunately wasn't successful. The kids club was wonderful. The staff brought milk and cookies on one evening for a bedtime treat! I would definitely go back again.
great hotel, great food, great chefs, great front office service, i will come back again, certainly.
Top class hotel in a wonderful location & friendly staff. Gorgeous spacious room overlooking sea, loved the luxurious toiletries & seaweed bath. Lots of cosy corners in bar with turf fires burning & lively back-round music. Only downside was not many people in restaurant for dinner so lacking in atmosphere and the dreary CD playing over & over didn't help. Great stay thanks.
Hotel was great and staff were friendly and very helpful. Set menu choice was very limited and roast of the day could be included. Lovely setting for hotel and we would go back again.
The hotel is lovely. Its view and location is gorgeous. During our short one night stay we only got to experience the restaurant and bedroom . The rooms were spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The views in the restaurant were amazing. The only negative was the time it took for our food to be served. We had a two course meal but we had to wait over 50 minutes between ordering and for our main course to be served. The meal was then served in stages. I usually dont mind but the fact the restaurant was not at all busy we were a bit put out. But overall the people were very friendly especially the lady who we met at breakfast.
Lovely hotel, nice and friendly staff, first time at Spanish point, will be visiting again soon
Very nice and friendly staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Bar is authentic and therefore excellent. View is amazing, defenetely enjoyed our stay! Thank you!
Stayed here in Oct 14 on family break with 8 and 5 year old. Beautiful hotel in a great location. Great for touring all the wonderful things to see in Clare. Breakfast was delicious and very friendly and attentive staff. Very good kiddies club. Only negative is lack of swimming pool. We'll be back for another stay here in the future.
beautiful hotel and even better views - great staff in all departments
stayed here for two nights excellent food staff were very friendly music in bar was very enjoyable will be returning.
Beautiful location reaching out over the Atlantic. Great hotel, fabulous view from room, Dinner was exquisite and breakfast was excellent. Lovely wee bar in the hotel, Jonny Burkes with live traditional music. Friendly staff with loads of info about Spanish Armada.
just come back from the armada hotel.we had a great holiday.Good food and great staff.we will definitely be going back.
Just spent one night here in July. Had 2 meals and breakfast. Must say the food was very good and very well presented. The staff in this hotel were extremely friendly, I suspect most were from the locality. The hotel is quite a distance from a town, but that said, it seems to have a large support from the numerous nearby holiday homes. With music every night, adequate bedrooms, and the efficient and friendly staff, you will not be disappointed with a stay here.
Stayed in the Armada hotel 2 weeks ago in a family room and had would highly recommend it. The room was very nice, clean and spacious. We had a lovely view of the sea. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Great choice of breakfast and evening meal was excellent. Will definately stay in the Armada again.
Good Hotel and Excellent location. Good food, great rooms, lively bar and friendly efficient staff. Good food and all in all a good break for me and the young lad. Great base to cycle and walk.
Spent 2 nights here in April. The hotel was fantastic with the most amazing views. Hotel staff were brilliant and we really enjoyed our break. Can't wait to go back!!
Excellent stay. Good food, great rooms, lively bar and very friendly, efficient staff. All in all a great experience.
The best break ever -anywhere.Friendly helpful efficient staff.Spacious comfortable room. We could not have asked for anything better. Added to all that ,the weather was great for the four days so we were able to enjoy the fantastic scenery and countryside at its best. We Will Be Back! Thank you Armada Hotel. Thank you Lidl. . . N.J.D.
Great location right on the ocean , very professional staff, would recommend this hotel when touring west clare
Perfect getaway with the better half. Great service, lovely room, excellect food and stunning views. Pity about the weather but few pints of porter in the snug made up for that! We will be coming back here, sooner rather than later.
Can not praise this hotel enough beautiful surroundings excellent food the staff are superb and very friendly will defo b going back. Michael o Sullivan
enjoyed our one night stay here found the accommodation clean and comfortable ,friendly staff , good food a bit slow on service between courses but otherwise fine enjoyable meal .a few enjoyable drinks in the burkes bar afterwards . only thing we found strange was the size of the lift was very small and slow wouldn't like to have to use it too often we used the stairs as we were on the second floor!
From the warm welcome of the staff on reception, the room with a view over the sea, the lovely breakfast, the delicious evening meals, to the staff at reception as we were leaving - it was truly wonderful - and made our couple of days getaway delightful.
great location, attentive & professional staff, good food and as a bonus we were blessed with glorious weather during our stay!
Booked our stay through TodayFM Breaks. Requested a room with a view, however this was not provided. Receptionist said that they did not receive all the information relating to our booking! We were provided with an adequate room overlooking the wheelie bins at the front of the hotel. Very disappointing. Hotel food was lovely and there was music in the hotel on all three nights of our stay, which was nice. Staff are very friendly and the hotel is in a great location.
a very good hotel the staff were very nice the hotel was very clean food was good we will be back regards im mac mahon
Enjoyed my stay very much. The Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was excellent as was the accommodation. Will return again very soon. Olive McCarthy, Oban, 1, Eastlands, Tramore, Co. Waterford.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was practically a straight run from Dublin.Jerome and Emily were very welcoming on the reception. The food was good and the waiting staff were very friendly and made us feel at home....the breakfasts were absolutely scrumptious;I told myself I wouldn't have the full Irish but I couldn't resist-the peppered sausages were very moreish, and the luchtime menu is a definite must(compliments to the cook)! Our room was very clean, spacious and warm. The hotel is situated close to some of the sights that are must see places:Bunratty and the Cliffs of Moher and also offers the facility of some nice walks in the area. Siobhan and I are definitely going to return as soon as we can. Richard
Beautiful hotel, great views, great food. Rooms comfortable. Would recommend.
Stayed here for a wedding but went to bed early. Room was very close to function room and could not sleep due to noise.when i brought it up at reception on check out, i was asked why I didn't I complain at 1am. Breakfast not greatly varied, bacon not cooked properly. Ask for a quiet room if staying here.
we had a lovely stay in the Armada Hotel, food excellent and staff most helpful
The hotel is fabulous - and the food devine. Arrived 2.15pm and our room was "not quite ready" - tea for two offered while we waited. Nice gesture. Staff very helpful. As the weather was disappointing (to say the least) it would have been lovely to have had a leisure or spa centre. Women love a bit of pampering......... But would certainly recommend to friends and have every intention of returning to the Armada. Would give a 4* rating to hotel - 5 if there had been that leisure/spa centre.
The hotel was in a wonderful location, fantastic value and breath taking views. The food was devine, had live entertainment on a monday night and special offer on drinks, I enjoyed my stay very much and would highly recommend this hotel. Our room was very comfortable lots of space and a sea view, who could ask for more! I will definitely be making a return visit.
an absolute gem of a hotel. Friendly and efficient staff, especially Linda in reception.Location wonderful and our beautiful modern room was overlooking the ocean.food very good and a lovely atmosphere in the hotel. I would definitely stay there again.
Great location for a quiet weekend break away from it all. Friendly staff, spacious rooms, gorgeous food, beautiful views and a cosy pub! Perfect!!
Hotel was perfect for our needs, food was very good and included in the price which made it more enjoyable. Staff were very helpful, very relaxing break. On check in we were upgraded to an exec room - completely unexpected. Hope to return again with our children next year.
This was brilliant value - it's a lovely hotel, in lovely surroundings & nice food. A very relaxing weekend overall. For the price we paid with this deal, it was fantastic value.
Great break. Staff happy to go that extra bit to make sure all was well. Food was fantastic - very high standard. Will definately return. Brendan, Navan
Nice Hotel, Good Service, Food was nice but menu was very limited! Beef or Vegetarian dish or Salmon or Halibat or Hake...
Warm and welcoming hotel in idyllic surroundings. The room was very comfortable and the food was top class. We had a great stay here overall.
Good hotel with very pleasant staff-quite a trip to get there and sign posting from Ennis very poor-non existant more correctly-had to ask 3 times from Ennis onwards how to get to Spamish Point. On a dark night not much fun. However met by very pleasant staff (though loud music blaring from bar on the Friday night on our arrival). Good food and staff and bar food very good on the Saturday night. Lovely areas to visit like owls and falcons at Ailiwee Cave and Cliffs of Moher too. So good hotel to be based at to see some of Clare. Staff helpful at all times.
Lovely Hotel. Fantastic staff. We will definitely be back again!
first room we were given window would not close we were upgraded 2 a delux room staf very helpful and nice food was very good we stayed one night 26/11 2011we wil be back jacinta athlone
We stayed in the armada on a weekend the area is quiet and the scenery is lovely, there was weddings on both night s we stayed it was a bit noisey and the room was not very sound proof, but it was a nice room. The food in the bar was beautiful we did have an evening meal included each day for the main resturant but we liked the bar menu better, the breakfast was very nice and plenty of it, There is plenty to see around the area. The staff were very helpfull and very nice.
Stayed for 2 night B & B + Dinner and would highly recommend the Armada. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and overall had a very enjoyable stay.
We loved it. The chef did the hotel proud and all the staff couldn't have been nicer. Well worth the trip.
Nice hotel, staff very friendly. Lovely view but very quiet. Would return again.
on behalf of my husband and friends we had a lovely stay last week bed breakfast and dinner food excellent and beds very comfortable staff a gem see you all again soon alice
The Armada Hotel in Co. Clare. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the room is lovely & spaceous. The food is exeptional. I would recommond this hotel to anyone! I would definitely visit again!!
Top class Hotel ! Staff , location, room and food are excellent. just one thing, we found that the bar menu was actually better than the main restaurant. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable !
Hotel was very nice. Staff were very efficient and friendly. I would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet , relaxing break. There are some lovely, scenic walks nearby. Lidl breaks are very good value for money and there is no messing saving coupons or stamps !
Our stay at the Armada Hotel with Lidl breaks was very enjoyable. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms very clean with all home comforts provided. The staff are very friendly and helpful and this added to the pleasure of our stay. The food served to us at the restaurant was very good and the portions were ample for any hungry traveller. Breakfast was self serice and all diets were catered for and once again there was more than one could eat. All considered we would rate our experience as TOP CLASS and would have no problem recomending a stay at the Hotel and also a Lidl break for great Value and friendly atmosphere. Thanks to all. Anne & Padraig. 20-4-2011
Staff very good, food also very good a nice place to stay.
Both my wife and I like the idea of the Lidl Break concept because the total basic cost is known in advance - dinner bed and breakfast -- no hidden charges. Our 1 night stay at the Armada was enjoyable and we would visit this hotel again if in the area. The bed and room were both comfortable and clean; we had a stunning sea view both from the bedroom window and from the restaurant. Both the dinner and breakfast were of a high standard. The staff were pleasant and helpful, we appreciated the idea of a special offer to viisit the Cliffs of Mohar since we planned to visit these whilst in the area. Fortunately, we had no problem finding the hotel, since it was listed on our GPS. However we would recommend that the GPS address for the hotel is listed on their web site, letter heads and other publications, and possibly improve signage directing traffic to the hotel from main roads in the area. This will help guests find the hotel more easily, and could provide a competitive edge thereby increasing the number of people who use this hotel. Overall, we would rate this hotel a 4 star +. Good value for money. We have recommend this hotel to friends and relatives.
We married there 6 years go so it was our first time back, the hotel has been done up and looks great, the restaurant is fantastic with beautiful views over the bay. We got upgraded to a superior room, overall a fantastic location for a getaway, especially if the sun is shining.
