We've been staying at the Silver Springs Hotel for 6 or 7 years and love it. We will be back again next year.
Rooms hot snd stuffy ..breakfast very poor..wouldn't recommend hotel
Very nice hotel with equally nice polite staff. Recommended to anyone.
Hotel was lovely staff very friendly & helpful, could do with a bit of updating!! Food was great!!Only one lift & very slow & we were on the 5th floor!! Will be back again in September for a Wedding!!
Lovely staff good quality rooms lovely food
good
Staff are amazing in this Hotel nothing is a problem
Great staff, good service and good breakfast. Very clean throughout. Definitely stay there again.
Fabulous hotel , rooms were nice and cosy beds were very comfortable and clean , room was clean and organised Reception staff were very welcoming , breakfast was good
Down for one night and went to the bar for a drink and the bar was freezing everyone in the bar Complaint had to leave after 3 drinks
Clean room , very helpful staff and most of all the the location
Great hotel, lovely family room. Only fault was the slow service for dinner but the food when it arrived was lovely.
Comfortable room , great food ,and the service was excellent
Mix up of information at reception Smell of cigarette smoke in the hallways Carpet not clean Breakfast not great, self service
Rooms were not ready at check in time of 3pm. We were travelling for a family funeral so this made things particularly awkward. Room itself was fine, went for breakfast at 7.40am the following morning as we had to check out early and the hot breakfast was completely inedible. The fried eggs were stone cold, the pudding and rashers were rock solid, clearly this was food that was reheated. Worst breakfast I have ever seen and I’ve stayed in many hotels. Disappointing overall.
Wasn't happy with hotel the food was very poor and burnt also the price of drink was to way to expensive, not going back
I'd have given this hotel a 5 if the breakfast had been hot...it was only warm and I like my food hot. I had the best night's sleep that I've had in a long time at the Clayton Silversprings - the bed was lovely and comfortable as were the pillows. I also love when a hotel room has a bath as it gives you the option of either a bath or a shower which is lovely. Will definitely stay here again soon!
Please have Wi-Fi connected to all Tele in family Rooms , kids will love it , They will enjoy watching their videos. We were disappointed that Internet was not connected tele.
We stay at the silver springs Hotel everytime we go to cork.. Great hotel, comfy rooms, lovely staff and close to the city.. They upgraded us to a family suite this stay as they got our room wrong but sorted it immediately.. the suite was gorgeous kids loved it x ??
excellent breakfast facility, some basic things like water bins bags where missing from room but overall good
Staff were extremely friendly. The room and food we had was fabulous.
Nice Experience. Room ok corridor dated.
Generally the Hotel was quite good, however it was quite obvious that the staff lacked training. Whereas the staff were polite and friendly, they were disadvantaged by lack of training, which was very unfair to have a young inexperienced staff having to deal with a demanding clientele. Management must take the brunt of responsibility for allowing this situation. WG
The service st the hotel wasn't as good as previous stays as a member of our party was asked twice about a payment fir food and drinks although he had made the both payments. Child friendly and the Food was the only good part of our stay
Nice hotel and good dining. Good value for money. No complaints at all
Hotel is spotlessly clean... Staff were very helpful and friendly... rooms were spacious, warm and nicely decorated and the food was fab...
There was damp on the ceiling in our room, the food was not up to standard
Nice foyer Bedrooms could do with a makeover but staff in all sections of hotel made up for this So friendly Lovely ambience Good breakfast too
Our stay was disappointing. Check in was quick but they did have the wrong price and tried to over charge us but once I supplied the email with the correct pricing they corrected it straight away. We went to our room which as soon as we walked in you could get a funky smell. The carpet was badly stained and the ceiling in the bathroom was covered in black mould. We went to reception and told them, the lady we dealt with was brilliant and was all apologies. She upgraded our room. When we went to the new room the receptionist called to make sure the room was OK and at the time we thought it was but then the flasher on the toilet didn't work properly and we found broken glass in the corner of the room but at that stage we didn't want to complain anymore so just left it. The dinner we had was very nice but the breakfast was terrible, the food was all stone cold.
Really enjoyed our stay, food was delicious, service was excellent, no issues.
Couldn't fault anything.
Very happy with our stay, especially your waiters and waitresses in restaurant
The staff were so friendly and efficient, they made us feel so welcome even though the hotel was busy. They went above and beyond to make my daughter’s birthday there special.
The rooms are very nice, beds and pillows very comfortable, the little extras like water and a fan made the room very comfortable. The room was not ready when we arrived, but the staff were nice. We were waiting nearly an hour for breakfast, they seemed very busy. Would stay here again.
Nice hotel,friendly staff.
Excellent service everything was fab
Recently spent a night at the hotel, we had gorgeous food in the bar and the breakfast was delicious also. Very clean, comfortable rooms that came with a fan which really helped ! The staff were super helpful and friendly. Over all could not fault our experience.
Had a lovely relaxing time in your hotel.
Hotel was nice and clean staff where friendly. The food was nice. But the coffee with the breakfast was very poor/weak along the tea. Otherwise the room was clean tidy but at night the heating was turned on and it was like a sauna. Apart from that everything was fine and we would stay again
Excellent value. Warm and very welcoming staff. Great location. Clean and great COVID compliance. Well done Clayton Silver Springs. We will be back.
Shower didnt work properly
The Clayton Silversprings is deserving of a 5 star review. The COVID-19 measures taken in the hotel were of an exceptional standard throughout all of the services offered. The reception and restaurant staff were friendly and professional. I look forward to returning to the hotel in the future.
FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT STAFF. EXCELLENT DINING AND ACCOMODATION.
I was disappointed with my stay. We had two double beds for two adults and two kids I would have much preferred two single beds for the girls which is what I thought I booked. The dinner was only average. When I chose this hotel I did so because it had a swimming pool I was very annoyed to discover I had to pay €15 extra for an hour time slot. Overall my stay was very disappointing.
What to be serviced in the morning took way to long even though there was no one 8n the restaurant other than this everything was good idea stay again
Would highly recommend. The hotel was so clean, the staff were lovely and the food was excellent. We will definitely be staying here again.
Very basis hotel. Much confusion at breakfast. Dinner was good but breakfast was not nice
Very basis hotel. Much confusion at breakfast. Dinner was good but breakfast was not nice
Lovely Hotel, nice clean room Bed was fantastic to sleep in. Well kitted out with kettle,Ironing board, hairdryer all supplied. Food and drink spot on Great value hotel. Staff very helpful. Would definitely come back to stay at some future date
Lovely relaxing stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room very clean. We would definitely stay there again.
Lovely stay
staff were most helpful. food in bar was very nice. breakfast was delicious
Hotel was lovely and clean staff were pleasant but service was very slow seated for evening meal at 7.50pm didn’t get our meal until 9.30 pm portion size very small and the same at breakfast waiting over half an hour for breakfast and food was only ok won’t be returning again much better hotels in Cork
Lovely hotel with great staff
Opening hours for pool and location not great for kids, Hotel rooms not fully clean and this is a concern within a pandemic and does not provide confidence of rest of room, phones and fans filthy, Staff at breakfast and dinner not all fully engaged with guests, dinner on first night was below par but second night was lovely, reception staff lovely, staff in restaurant, some where great others not so great,
Water in room 411 was full on hot all the time and could not shower, Hotel rooms not fully clean and this is a concern within a pandemic and does not provide confidence of rest of room, phones and fans filthy, Staff at breakfast and dinner not all fully engaged with guests, dinner on first night was below par but second night was lovely .
Small bedroom. Small food portions. Hotel is tired looking, definitely not a 4 star hotel more like a three. Got a good deal there, so I guess we got what we paid for.
Not Clayton standard. Menu choice and food was terrible. No fresh towels on day 2 despite putting “clean my room sigh on door”. Wouldn’t recommend
Beautiful hotel could not fault it. Food was good , room was big and loads of room, has a playground out the back which my kids lovely. Staff are so nice and friendly. Really enjoyed our stay would stay again
Beautiful hotel could not fault it. Food was good , room was big and loads of room, has a playground out the back which my kids lovely. Staff are so nice and friendly. Really enjoyed our stay would stay again
Poor service and very poor food
When I checked in I was told dinner was not included in my package. The receptionist reluctantly provided me with a dinner voucher after reading the confirmation email on my phone that I was entitled to have dinner. This hotel is not well managed. There is no evidence that the care taking staff are active. Toilet seat loose in ensuite, blocked sink hole in ensuite. Entrance area to hotel reception littered with cigarettes. Breakfast limited and some items cold - had to ask for condiments several times. It needs a good proactive manager.
Hotel was lovely and their covid-19 policy was brilliant probably too strict. We arrived at 1700 and were looking forward to our first drink in a bar since March 13th. This was not to be as we were told that we needed to buy food aswell as drink. we explained that we had eaten our lunch earlier and were booked for |D|inner at seven. still no drink. Anyway we arrived down to the restaurant at 18:55 ordered our Drinks only to be told that they had no Guinness, Beamish or Murphys . The horror of it I nearly cried.! I ordered a pint of Heinekin at 1900 which arrived at 19:25 ... no word of a lie. we only had two drinks in our allotted time. There was someone celebrating a birthday to which the staff pampered forgetting the rest of us.. even the lady who appeared to be the boss of the restaurant.
Lovely hotel check in quick and easy,Room was nice bed lovely and comfortable.staff were very helpful.would love to stay again.
Very good location - we got the older wing of the hotel and the windows are not the best in terms of soundproofing, so could hear the traffic quite clearly. Great breakfast & friendly staff.
We have stayed here several times, staff are top notch, always efficient, friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and comfortable. Location is ideal for visiting further afield in County Cork and just a ten minute drive to the city centre. Breakfast is excellent, fantastic selection of food. One criticism might be that the bar and restaurant are not big enough for the volume of business they do
A very enjoyable stay in this hotel, the bar menu is limited and the seating not suitable when trying to eat (sofas too deep and stools not comfortable). The breakfast menu was excellent with plenty of choice. The staff are excellent and really helpful, the door card kept deactivating itself which was really annoying (up and down lifts). Location of the hotel is excellent and it's a hotel I would go back to and recommend to friends.
Just back from a two day break in Cork at the Clayton Hotel Silversprings. The hotel location is excellent, easy to get to from the M8 and on a couple of minutes drive to St Pauls street in the city centre. The staff were very helpful with directions to sights around the city and offered very friendly service. The rooms were clean, confortable and nicely decorated with Iron, Ironing board and tea/coffee making facilities. We ate in the bar one night and the restuarant on another. The food was good, but to be very critical I thought the menu a little limited. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to a friend.
The hotel was ideal to stay in while attending a concert in the marquee as they provided a bus to and from there also staff very friendly and hotel clean and comfortable would recommend this to anyone
Excellent hotel as usual
Very enjoyable short stay. Room was lovely and modern. Breakfast was excellent. Would have liked to stay longer. Will be back
Excellent hotel as usual
Good location, excellent food, and friendly service. Would stay here more often, if it wasn't so close to home!
I had previously stayed in the Silversprings hotel on numerous occasions in the past number of years and found the hotel to be of 5-star quality. However, on my recent visit to the now named Clayton-Silversprings- I thought that it lacked the 5 star qualities I was used to: ie cleaniness of toilets both in the bedroom and the main toilets on ground floor. I met a number of staff who were very friendly but found some lacking in customer service (both in reception and bar food areas). I will return as the food was lovely and the value of price I paid was GREAT.
My husband and i stayed in tbe Clayton very recently and found the whole experience absolutely wonderful. The reception staff couldnt have been more welcoming and friendly. They upgraded us to a more luxurious room when we arrived as it was my husband's birthday -very thoughtful and kind of them. We had a lovely evening meal in the bar area and got fantastic service-thanks to all the various staff. would highly recommend this hotel to anybody. 5 star
very good hotel clean breakfast excellent staff exc will be back again
Stayed here the 23rd September (received a generous upgrade to a suite)... The suite was fabulous (Tivoli Suite), with generous space size. Our stay was really good and too short (would have liked to stay longer !!!). The hotel is currently being upgraded and has new rooms for an extra €25 per night !
Room was nice , dinner was 5 star
Excellent hotel as usual
Website not great as when we arrived to hotel they knew nothing about our booking! Glad we had printed the confirmation email!
Excellent hotel great for families. Play area inside and out. Play group for the kids 6.30-8.30 which was fantastic. Food was fabulous. Will be back for sure.
Really enjoyed our stay, very friendly staff, always will to do everything to make our stay enjoyable. would like to see more seating in the lounge area as it was very full when we were there, overall very enjoyable
Very friendly welcome on arrival, we found the staff very helpful and friendly. would stay again
We had a group of four adults staying overnight. We would recommend the hotel for value, friendliness and the standard of food. Some small suggestions which would have added to the stay are: The receptionsist was very busy and under pressure dealing with personal customers while the phone continually rang. It was annoying to be continually interrupted when checking in as answering the phone took priority. The rooms were very warm and there was no access to the radiator to lower the temperature. It was not obvious beforehand that the swimming pool was a ten minute walk away. Consider making the bar menu available in the restaurant as it was more extensive than the restaurant menu. Overall though, good service and friendly staff.
Very pleasantly surprised. Very good value for two nights with breakfast and dinner provided. The breakfast could have done with being presented a little better. A lot of the food was swimming in grease but, nonetheless, we enjoyed it. The dinner in the restaurant the first night was nice and all four of us were happy with what we got. On the second night we used our dinner voucher in the bar. I ordered the stir fry. It was so loaded with salt that it was completely inedible which was very disappointing. The rooms (we had connection twin rooms) were very nice, clean, very warm. No complaints there and the young man who came to do housekeeping was very friendly and thorough. All staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and would definitely return for another visit (but wouldn't order the stir fry)
Very dissapointed...My husband has been very unwell and we were looking forward to a nice relaxing night away....I went to have a nice bath before dinner but water wasnt hot...contacted reception and someone came to have a look and we were told we may have to change to a different room...After waiting some time we were again moved to a different room but as we entered we felt it very cold...The porter that helped us move went to the heating settings and assured us that we would have heat in while ...We had our bath and went dwn for dinner.....Again another disaster , waited well over an hour to get our food which was very dissapointing. My steak was cremated and my husbands order was not what we asked for...Our whole night from start to finish was ruined... What was supposed to be a nice night away was anything BUT!!!! And to top it all off we went back to a freezing cold room...NO HEATING!!!! As i said earlier my husband has had very bad health and he was cold all night..... not the nice romantic night away we had planned....VERY VERY DISSAPOINTED ...
Excellent hotel
Excellent food & accommodation, staff friendly but a little chaotic. Leisure centre up the hill very old fashioned, water in pool was cold & staff there obnoxious.
Stayed here on Saturday 05th March and received a great welcome when checking in, We got a family room on the 2nd floor and the room was very clean and loads of space. There was a generator in use outside the back of the hotel which was very loud and when i enquired in reception was told it would be switched off at 22:15 for the night. Only other fault i would have would be the leisure centre as it is not actually in the hotel. As it is a good 10 mins walk up a very steep hill and it was raining we had to leave the hotel and drive up to the leisure centre. Overall it is a very nice and relaxing hotel to stay in.
The hotel was fine but the staff could do with lessons in manners. I would definitely eat out rather than get the evening meal in future especially where there are childrens meals. They looked like they were dipped in a deep fat fryer and thrown out. Children could not eat what was served up. Adult meals 2 out of 10. The facility is good other than the food and staff..
A beautiful hotel we stayed two nights and opted for an upgrade to a suite on the second night absolutely gorgeous could highly recommend it . The staff on reception were very pleaasant and welcoming which was more than I could say for the staff in the breakfast room. We came down at 10.20 my husband had porridge and after finishing that he went up for a cooked breakfast to find the hot food taken away he asked one of the girls who said no it was gone this was at 10.35 really bad form, I would expect them to llook at the people who were dining to see if they were finished, I heard a few more people complaining about this also. That was annoying but the room and staff on reception made up for it. The staff in the dining room could do with few lessons in good manners and dealing with people.
We stayed in the family room at the Clayton Silver Springs on an overnight recently and would definitely recommend it. The staff we very friendly and accommodating. We travelled with two older children and of course there was conflict between them over sharing the double bed! It had been suggested to me at reception if there was an issue there would be no problem in supplying a fold out bed. There was plenty of room to add the fold out bed and the room was comfortable clean and roomy! The beds and pillows were also exceptionally comfortable and I'm fussy! Food was fab and we were only sad it was for one night only. Only drawback is having the leisure centre outside the hotel but not a serious problem.
Lovely comfortable hotel. Great food, nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed my stay. Staff very courteous and helpful.
Hi we had a fantastic time lovely food and lovely staff would definitely go back loved the dinners at night and a great atmosphere with loads of people around and a 5:star rating
Hotel was very nice, a bit of refurb needed in hallways and stairwells, but can't really recommend if going with young kids as the windows are unsafe. Can't relax knowing the bedroom windows at probably less than 1m high open fully and easily (a toddler could easily open them, and this in a family room) with high drop (6 floors of rooms). What's the point of going to a hotel if you can't relax? Also room we had was very noisey and cold due draught from gap in window when closed (busy road, railway, port outside). Bar and food was very nice. Play area for kids in reception alone would bring me back with family (brilliant idea), as would secure playground for kids. Staff really friendly. Would go back with family if I knew the windows were sorted.
We booked to stay at the Silver Springs for four days to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and my wife's birthday. We were upgraded to a spacious and well equipped suite. The room was quite exceptional although we had a couple of issues. The safe stopped working and we couldn't access out items. Hotel responded within twenty minutes and opened it and after we went out replaced the safe with a working replacement. Great! The refrigerator did not work and although reported on the first morning was not attended to during our four days. As we only had some water in it and a complimentary fruit gift this was not s major problem. Overall great room experience. The Watermarq restaurant was closed for dinner during our entire trip although the website indicated it was open for three of our four night stay. This was a bit problematic as dinner was in the bar and on occasion there was no space, no space reserved for diners who had paid for dinner in advance. Bar service was slow at times. On one night there was only standing room in the bar areas. The quality of the food was truly excellent and it was the same food that would have been available in the main restaurant. Breakfast was at a high standard. Nitpicking one would expect some smoked salmon to be available. Although staff service was patchy at times and the dining areas problematic through a level of insufficient planning the staff listened to ones legitimate concerns and did try and help. Car parking at times was challenging. Overall I have given a five star rating because of the positive responses to guests queries and concerns and the application of a high level of customer care. Planning could be improved somewhat. Highly recommended.
The star rating is a little difficult for me between 2 and 3 but if you said would I stay there again, it would be no. I mentioned the broken window and television problem at reception and there was no quibble and a gratuity was given which was appreciated I didn't mention any of the below points at reception but as you have asked for a survey I mention them now. I was surprised the hotel had a 4 star rating - decor somewhat shabby frayed carpets and a musty damp smell as if there had been a leak in the corridors. The stay was disappointing for the following reasons:- Short staffed which impacted in the following ways: Dinner, we had to wait 55 minutes before our food arrived, extra sauce took at least 10 - 15 mins to arrive that again, but was requested at order. In all it was two hours before dessert was finished and we had planned to go out, which by then we could not go. The waitress who served us was lovely and we enjoyed the meal. I've never experienced a breakfast like it in a hotel, due to staff shortage. We arrived to breakfast at 10am. There were no sausages or fried eggs and we had to go back up to get those when they were ready, the juice completely ran out. But the main problem was, there was no clean table to sit at. A girl sent us away from a table she was clearing and saw us go to another table nearby, but instead of coming over to us to clear that table, she went to the other side of the room to clear another table. She just left us standing beside 3 dirty tables and had no intention of speaking with us again or following up with us. When I went over to her to ask if she could clear the table (we were all standing around), she said "you can sit at this one when I've cleared it". And then to top it all she never asked us if we wanted tea and toast and never came near us again to ask it, but did look at us several times (quite clearly) as she went in and out of the kitchen. She was clearly ticked off due to being short staffed. Another lovely girl got tea and toast for us after a while, when we went over and asked her for some. I hate to personalise it to one girl because I work in the service industry and know how difficult it can be. But to be left standing beside 3 dirty tables and for her to then say you can sit here when I'm ready( more or less). I could sense her mood when she sent us away from the first table and I actually didn't want to go back over to her but at that point there was no one else on the floor. I did look for a damp cloth and a tray (but there weren't any trays) to clear the table myself. The staff shortage was not her fault so she can't solve that for you.
Simply Excellent! Espeically, Watermarq restaurant foods, service and staffs were excellent! Thanks to Lidl!!! anna
Beautiful hotel, great staff - was very impressed with the room and the staff were lovely and hopefully will return.
We got a room that was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. There was damp patches all over the ceiling. Breakfast was the worst I have ever had in a hotel. Staff not helpful. Waitress at breakfast had no interest in serving us even though restaurant was empty. Very disappointing.
Very disappointed with hotel not a hotel for kids leisure centre swimming pool a disaster the pool not suitable for kids water was cold too deep for young kids and nothing there to have fun with its like an old wear house and not that clean either so def not 4 star more like 1 star and that's for the nice staff at desk hotel itself was ok food was grand room ok best thing again was staff nice and friendly not a very fussy person but would not be going back
Lovely room with view as requested. Exceptional value. Amanda was very facilitating at dinner. Nothing was a problem. Highly recommend Lidl breaks.Breakfast was very good for a buffet and plenty fresh squeezed juice.. overall fantastic experience.
Have always enjoyed our breaks with Silver Springs before, this time upon registering was informed that restaurant was closed for Sunday and Monday evening. As we had booked for evening meals for both nights, our only other option was to drive into Cork City ( which would have been awkward as my husband now has very reduced mobility) or avail of the bar menu. As this was a special anniversary it was a disappointment that could have been avoided as we would have changed days of stay if we had been advised prior to arrival. Have stayed in Silver Springs many times over the years and have always enjoyed stay before now.
Lovely hotel, great location. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the restaurant and food are very nice. Rooms are modern and clean and all necessities are provided. Would definitely stay again.
Hotel very nice inside and very clean, staff very friendly - food was good in restaurant. Leisure centre in a separate building up quite a steep hill about 5 mins or more walk away, would need to drive if you had small children with you.
staff friendly and professional. room was clean and airy. Reception staff helpfull and cheery. Wedding was on but although bar was busy still no problem getting a drink. Had doorstep sandwiches for lunch .well presented and tasty.Dinner was less than good. Well done steak was rare to medium and partners curry was cold. sent back steak and 10oz when represented had shrunk to 8oz. breakfast cooked fresh but partners scrambled eggs, mushrooms and pudding were cold . sent back and represented 2 mins later after micro. now rubber and ineatible. wont be back
Excellent hotel no faults will return
Brilliant weekend and best value ever.Dinner was great , staff friendly and really helpful. Loved the views of the river from the bedrooms. Will Def be back
Check in was easy, friendly front of house staff. The room was nice, clean and spacious. The meal was a disaster, we received no starter or food apart from my daughters soup after an hour. Then after an hour and twenty minutes we finally got our main course, the starter never came. When we complained we were told there was not enough staff on. To be honest having worked in the catering industry myself for a number of years, that is not the customers problem or concern and they do not need to hear about internal processes such as staff rotas. We did receive a free drink each and dessert for my daughter. But the overall service on the night was not up to standard. We had to get clean cups from another table and some of the cutlery was dirty. When the chips came they were re-heated and only we were so hungry at this point we would have left. We did request a quiet room on our booking form. But from 2am till well after 3am we had wedding guests walking up and down the corridor. Twice we had to go outside and ask them to move and and keep the noise down. One group actually stood outside singing a chorus of up town funk. We also had a grown man knocking at our door at 4 am. Knowing we were not with the wedding party, I am baffled as to why we were put on the corridor where the exited from their venue, especially since we had a child and requested a quiet room.
The staff were nice. We had a lovely big family room. The only down side was the poor choice on the summer menu I was in the restaurant for just less than an hour and in that time 7 people walked out and into the bar for food. The next day I asked at reception if I could eat in the bar and that was no problem. The food was Fab with generous portions and a great atmosphere so much better and nicer than the restaurant.
Lovely hotel, great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, great location.
Lovely hotel. Very clean bathroom and bedroom. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Great parking and convenient location. Highly recommended!
We spent one nights in the Silver Springs Hotel in Cork, the accommodation was excellent, very spacious bedroom and very clean and modern. The bar and restaurant are beautifully decorated and the food is excellent. I would highly recommend it,very helpful and friendly staff
Booked a triple room for 3 adults. The room was actually a double room with a camp bed stuck in the corner. Not suitable for an adult and very uncomfortable. The room was also extremely hot at night and due to roadside location you could not open the window. Asked to be moved but the hotel was booked out. Food in the restaurant was delicious though.
This is a really nice hotel. Very up to date. Reception staff were very professional and had excellent manners I wish I could say the same for the bar staff. We waited over 20 minutes for someone to take our food order in the bar ( which I had to get up and ask them do take it). The food took over 40 mins to be served (only a steak sandwich and a curry) Others ordered after us but had their food before us (some order steak) . The food was very good when it did finally arrive. The rooms and bathrooms are fabulous and very clean. I have booked my parents in to this hotel many times and have used it myself for business but this was the first time I booked it with booking.com (not sure if that had am impact on their behaviours towards us)
We had a wonderful night in the silver springs hotel, we had the most fantastic meal, the staff were so nice, could not recommend this hotel highly enough
Excellent hotel, brilliant staff but terrible swimming facilities. 15min walk up a treacherous hill. Swimming pool was cold & unclean. The hotel itself is very nice.
Lovely Breakfast, Fantastic meal (Sea Trout starter and Venison m.c.), immaculately clean, well appointed room, enjoyed the stay and would certainly stay again.
Enjoyed our stay top quality hotel staff excellent food lovely but beer a bit pricey. Would recommend it to everybody
Lovely Hotel in great location for City & Fota. Very clean & modern, our only complaint is the beds are very very hard :-( A car is a must to get to the leisure center with the kids!
We spent two nights in the Silver Springs Hotel in Cork, the accomadation was excellent, very spacious bedrooms and very clean and modern. The bar and restaurant are beautifully decorated and the food is good. I would highly recommend it, friendly staff. The only downside is the swimming pool is a ten minute uphill walk from the hotel and is old fashioned.
Had a mini break mid week in The Silver Springs Hotel, absolutely blown away by the extremely helpful and friendly staff! A very child friendly hotel in an excellent location. The food was delicious, hotel itself was immaculate and overall a really relaxing and enjoyable stay. Can't wait to go back again (soon!!!) :-)
returning visitor, and as always excellent value and service.
Very nice hotel to stay in. We had our wedding there and had a large number our guests staying in the hotel afterwards, and any of them we spoke (or overheard people say) to had nothing but good things to say about the place. The staff are very pleasant to deal with, food was great, excellent gym and pool setup (there's just a bit of a walk up a hill to get there but you could always make that part if your workout). Highly recommended.
An enjoyable and comfortable stay. Staff friendly and helpful.
We had 3 nights -2 adults and one 8year old. The room was very good and spacious and recently done up- very clean with good bathroom and shower. The first night we couldn't figure how to turn off the heating and left the windows open. It's noisy from the nearby main road. The leisure centre has an excellent big swimming pool. It's up a very steep hill in the grounds of the hotel and you need to drive up to it. The staff were helpful and pleasant. More of a business hotel than a family hotel but very convenient for Cork city and Kinsale / Fota wildlife parks which is what we wanted. The breakfasts were the usual Irish buffet and good. The meal we had was not good - which was in the bar and the restaurant was closed on Monday night. Loads of good places to eat in Kinsale/Cork.
Staff very friendly and helpful. One evening meal we had was excellent. Breakfast excellent too. Disappointed to discover when we arrived on Sunday that restaurant was not opened Sunday or Monday (would have appreciated knowing this beforehand!). Room clean. Had to tweak heating to turn it on. Overall would give this hotel and its facilities 3 start rating.
Stayed here over the Paddys bank holiday weekend and thought the hotel was gorgeous. The room was spotless and bright and all modern furnishings. Breakfast was included and that was lovely too. Friendly staff overall warm atmosphere. Only thing was the annoying walk out to the 'leisure center/spa' which was basically a public swimming pool and very grubby and outdated. However all in all a lovely stay and would definitely go back again!
Had a very enjoyable family break in Silver Springs - very friendly and attentive staff, great service and lovely meals... looking forward to our next trip
not very pleased with this hotel. staff were not so friendly. wouldnt stay there again
Stayed for 2 nights/ B&B/1 evening meal package. Overall dissapointed with hotel. 1. Evening meal wasn't particular good. Breakfast is basic enough. 2. Announcements over the PA system in the restuarant was more akin to an Airport that a restuarant. 3. The swimming pool was not part of the hotel at all and a 5-10 min walk away. 4. Bedroom was acceptable, bathroom was smaller than expected. Finally the staff were very good and helpful.
REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY,FOOD LOVELY AND STAFF HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY, WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.
It was a nice break in Cork. The hotel has very good facility to accommodate people. Very kind and helpful people working up there!!! Will give a few comments: 1. The arm chairs were wet, you can't sit on them. 2. The food on our dinner were over salted and wasn't really tasteful. Need defenetly to improve.
We stayed for 2 nights on a B&B & evening meal package in this hotel. The room was adequate, clean with a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was average and staff seemed a little scarce. However the most infuriating situation was that the restaurant did not open on either night of our stay between Christmas and new year leaving guests to eat dinner in a lounge cum reception area with inadequate seating. One would expect that at this busy time of year their main restaurant would be open in the evening time. If felt sorry for the lounge staff who couldn't do anything but apologise to disgruntled guests. This hotel has potential but needs better preparation for busy times of the year.
A good hotel, with excellent and helpful staff, a pleasant stay.
Nice hotel, nice breakfast, friendly staff. Bathrooms were a bit dated but that's the only negative thing.
Fab hotel fab bar food menu and fab breakfast really enjoyed my stay. The room was massive very impressed with it. 1 tip please advertise the room downstairs at reception that has toys in it for children I would have brought my son if I had know you had a room with toys he would have loved it.
Great stay, very family/child friendly. All the staff were so nice. The brekkie suited all tastes kids & adults. Rooms were clean and warm... Would defo stay again!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms with plenty of space. Food was fabulous in restaurant and bar. Child friendly.
we have always ejoyed our away breaks with lidl breaks as they are within our buget, and we recomend lidl breaks to our friends' thank you lidl. david and ann condon
Stayed here on Saturday night and was very happy with my stay. After returning from the city on Saturday we went into the bar for a night cap and the band playing in the bar were so good. We stayed over an hour until they finished for the night and it ended off a really nice evening. A nice hotel out of the city a little but suited our needs exactly.
Hi we stayed in the silver springs hotel on Friday 6th of September a nice hotel but the breakfast was not great all the food in the hot holding area was cold asked the girl behind the counter did thy have a microwave to heat it and the chef put it under the grill did not make any difference to the food would say something if we were late for breakfast but we still had a half hour before breakfast was over would not stay they again
excellent meal and breakfast all included in the price.
Great stay no problems.
Stayed for 3 nights dinner B & B with our two children who are aged 2 & 3 and really enjoyed our stay. Rooms very clean & spacious, we had a family room. Food was excellent & staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There was a childrens play room which kept kids entertained in the evenings which meant that you could relax but also keep an eye on them at all times. Would highly recommend this hotel to families and will definitely stay again.
Very pleased with our stay. Nice hotel, food very good, variety of choice on menu. Clean facilities and room spacious
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights on a dinner (2 course), B & B package. The meal was to include tea or coffee but we were told that this was an extra course so we could not have it unless we payed for it !! (even though it states B & B, 2 course meal and tea or coffee). On the 3rd night of our stay we were then told the menu had changed and there would be a supplement charged with some of the dishes. It wasn't an issue but really they should have stated it at the beginning of our stay and not half way through. It was also very hard to actually enjoy the food as there was a door at the side of the bar left open and the seating area was full of flies. It was so bad on one occasion that I held on to the menu to try and keep them off our food. When I pointed this out to the waiter that was serving us he just said 'yeah but sure there is nothing we can do about it' !! We ate in our room or the restaurant after that. This was our 2nd time staying for a 5 night break here and I really did feel this time it was all about what they could add on to your bill which I found disappointing. Obviously when you are staying in a hotel for 5 nights you are spending quite a bit of money there and in the area. The majority of the staff at the hotel were very polite, helpful and pleasant and the hotel itself is very clean and comfortable. If we are visiting the area again I would probably try another hotel next time but we would stay here again in the future.
Another excellent stay at the Silver Springs, very helpful staff, excellent rooms and facilities, would happily recommend to all.
Overall we were very happy with our stay in Silver Springs hotel. The food we had for our dinner was delicious. There could be more of a selection of foods for the breakfast. The bedroom ws comfortable and airy. Would recommend to other people visiting Cork. Excellent value with the Lidl Breaks B&B&D.
The receptionist who checked us could have done with a personality. Despite our best efforts Elma as that was her name made no attempt to interact with us or to reply to the lines we fed her. Watch out in case you happen to be met by her at some stage in the future. Our room was very well appointed, it had everything we could have wished for except bathrobes. We mentioned that lack on the comment card we completed for the hotel itself. Dinner was delicious and the staff were very attentative. Breakfast was also a treat, the staff who this time were Irish not that that made any difference could'nt have been more helpful and engaged in the type of banter we would have liked from the receptionist! As we have stayed in the Silver Springs and knew what we would experience, we would and will definately return, especially on a Lidl hotel break! Regards, Anthony
Stayed here for a two night break March 2013. Great deal. Evening meal incl one night. Great food. Decided to stay another night and hotel gave us the same price as the Lidl break. Really enjoyed the break. Music Fri and Sat in bar/lounge was v entertaining. Thanks Lidl for great value once again. Taxi about €10 into city but just parked up the car til departure. V. Relaxing hotel. Rooms and breakfast excellent.
Lovely hotel, we would stay again, Sarah
Had a great time here in an excellent hotel, we were given a suite on arrival and it was probably the nicest I have ever stayed in. Could not fault the place.
Very clean rooms. Situated not far from the City Centre, about a 5 mins drive. Staff very friendly. I can highly recommend the restaurant downstairs, the food is excellent!!
Our 2 nights stay in the Silverspring hotel was very good. We found that they had a kids play area in the hotel lobbie where you could enjoy Lunch or Dinner and feel relax while the kids could play and with no stress. food was delicious and staff where very friendly and helpfull, we had a family room room and was very neat and tidy. would deffinatly stay again.
From when we arrived we found staff very friendly and very helpful with our requested, Found rooms nice and warm and food in restaurant outstanding, would stay here again
Great hotel, lovely staff and top class food!
Excellent value. The dinner in particular exceeded our expectations.
Had a lovely weekend hotel is very clean rooms are lovely the food is nice location is ideal to drive too but is a good 10 minute drive into the city and the leisure Centre is a bit off putting.
Bedroom very comfortable however mould was growing around the window. Bathroom decor very dated. Cold tap did not work in bathroom sink. I ate bar food during the afternoon. I ordered a toasted special on brown bread however i got it on white bread. I was so hungry I just ate it. Chips that accompanied the sandwich were only average. No very crispy. The Guinness was quiet stale. Watched the Ireland rugby match in bar. Surround sounds system was very good. The leisure centre was basic and dated and could do with some maintenance especially in the area of the Jacuzzi. Our evening meal in the restaurant was lovely and service was very good. Breakfast was average. Black pudding had a strange after taste and beans were quiet hard. Rashers looked horrible and very fatty and did not get any. The individual jams on the table were a very nice touch.
I can only say good things about this hotel. The staff could not have been any more helpful than thay wer.The food was 2nd to none and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Will definitly stay here again.
stayed here for one night and that was enough for my wife and myself ,we found the room small and stuffy, when u open the window there was too much road noise.this hotel looks dated the rooms could be updated and change those windows ours were broken u couldnt close the window mainteance had to be called cant understand why this wasnt noticed before a guest arrived.I wont be staying again, i have stayed in a lot of hotels in ireland and abroad and i have to say i was disappointed with silver springs
Had a good time staff were friendly food was very nice .had wifi in room.had A two year old child this hotel is not child friendly.there is no locks on windows in hotel room
We had a very enjoyable stay & we were very well looked after, the food there was fabulous and its only a short drive to city centre. We will definetly go back again.
Excellent! Excellent! The staffs are kind, food was great, service was great, view was beautiful. The price, of course was excellent. They really made everything nice and comfortable. Recommend to everyone. We will visit Silver Springs hotel again. Great hotel! Thanks to Lidl!!! Anna
This hotel was a great location the staff I found very friendly and the Hotel overall was great rooms are large and clean and the food was very good with a wide choice and great value would highley recommend this hotel
Lovely hotel, relaxing with great choice and quality of food, at a great LIDL special offer Break Price
For a midweek stay ,the staff were very nice, the hotel is located in a location which is easy to get in and out of, the room was comfortable, the food was lovely if slightly over priced. i'll be staying again as the hotel has proven to be relialble and a nice place to do business.
Myself and my Husband stayed in the Hotel w/e 22/09/10 the room we stayed in was not in very good condition the paint was peeling off the walls but most of all the leisure centre it was an absolute disgrace it was filty dirty the entire centre, I have stayed in a lot of hotels from your Lidl breaks but this one was a total distaster it needs to be upgraded and the Leisure Centre needs to be closed down.Sorry I will not be making a return visit. I was very disappointed with my weekend as I was looking forward to it so much.
A good hotel with good amenities. Rooms are clean and modern but no air conditioning and the road near by can be a little noisy at times. Taxi into cork city centre was €14 each way but everyone was friendly and great receptionists. Breakfast chefs are fantastic! Breakfast waitresses on the other hand seemed a little grumpy :-( We love LIDL breaks :-)
Pat & Ema stayed in Silver Springs on Thurs and Fri. 23th We enjoyed our stay, staff very friendly and a great location. Meals very good especially breakfast. Recommend you give it a try.
Very clean hotel, a little to far from city centre, Staff were very good, bar food was very good, we had a very bad meal in the restaurant one of the nights, overall we enjoyed our stay, the children loved the pool, it's not a four star hotel only a three star
arrived at the silver springs after leaving the carlton hotel in tralee, was quite disappointed, staff on checking in were very freindly, pool was very far from the hotel,we were told in was a 5 min walk but im sure it was much more and was in need of up date, looking at the photo now it is very clear it was taken a long time ago, then going back to the hotel we were sorry we had'nt taken the car as we got cought in rain.our room was very dated, bath had cigarette 3 or 4 burns,I am not an anti-smoker but i did find this disgusting.on saying that the staff were very plesant and food very good.
the hotel and meals were fine but the leisure club was a big dissapointment. I asked hotel staff to give me a voucher for leisure club at 7.00am and set out walking up the eerie road that led to leisure club no one told me it was so far I got scared and turned back as I was on my own so I ended not having any swim. I cant believe that the staff left me off on my own up there. You would need a car to get there and it was certainly no place for a woman to be. Was very dissapointed. I handed back my towel and voucher and the girl at the reception didn't even appologise. It is misleading advertisment to say they have a leisure club when it is so far from hotel. Also the car parking is very tight and very hard to manover a car in and out of.
stayed in the silver spring with my husband and two children for three nights had a lovely time very clean hotel very friendly staff and the food was lovely would definately stay here again would give it 11 out of 10
Lovely hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. The food in the Watermarq restaurant was delicious, as was the breakfast. The distance of the leisure centre from the hotel was the only downfall.
Great service, good food, excellent value.
Booked this as a 40th birthday surprise for me husband . Was so disappointed in this hotel . The room was average for a 4star and the bathroom was way back in the 80's decor. Booked a meal in their resturaunt , it was they worse I ever ate ! That bad that our 2 year old was vomating all night after what he ate . My husband spoke to the manager eoin daly who said he would talk to my husband the next morning , he was not working the next morning did he leave acknowledgement of them taking . Never again would I eat in that resturaunt again nor recommend it . Very disappointing
I had a great stay i had a small problem with noise on first night i explained to staff and i was looked after immediately over all a very nice place to stay food very good and reasonable. 4star
as always we enjoyed our 2 night stay in the silver springs hotel.its so welcoming its like coming home.
Myself, my mum & my sister stayed here last wknd. Nice hotel, bar & restaurant fantastic, dinner was out-standing and all staff extremely friendly. Our room however was freezing. no heat on all day & night & due to a window in need of repair, there was also a draft coming in. On calling reception, a young lad made a couple of attempts to get the heat on but to no avail and after another phone call we were given another room which was gorgeous and warm and we were very happy that our problem had been rectified. Breakfast was also excellent.
We had a lovely stay at the Silver Springs, Cork. Room was lovely, staff friendly. Pool was cold on Saturday evening though. Used the tennis court on Sunday morning, that was great. Nice to be inside while it was lashing rain outside. Breakfast was lovely with great selection. Would give it 4 star deducting one star for the pool.
Excellent hotel with friendly staff, great food and excellent facilities
Hi Just returned from a stay in the Silversprings Hotel The Lidl breaks was fantastic but the room we stayed in was not 4 star standard. The ladies on Reception were very nice and Breakfast & Bar food was lovely. We didnt complain as I just didnt have the time We just needed a place to sleep as we had business in Cork but the Bathroom left a lot to be desired dripping taps and smells, I put it down to different rooms been offered on special offer breaks I vote with my feet and I wont return.
After having a very bad stay at the sliver springs hotel last year i decided to go back this year and give it another chance seeming as i had been promised a stay to remember this time around, unfortunatly myself and my sister had a horrible stay again,we had been promised an upgraded room because of the nightmare stay last year so when we arrived at reception i asked the girl was the room upgraded and she said yes, when we went to our room we discovered the room was no upgrade just simply a family room with a thrown in bowl of fruit, i decided to ring reception as i wasnt happy about the promise of a nice room and then to get thrown into a family room, the receptionist told me they had us booked for a nice room but they got a booking for the same room and then had to change our room but agreed to change the room to a better room which they had a cancellation for,so we went to the bar for lunch while we were waiting for our room to be ready, lunch at the bar was fantastic, after waiting around for ages we decided to ask again at reception was the room ready to discover it had been ready ages just the receptionist that had said she would follow us into the bar with the key was now gone home, so its now gone 4.30 and finally we are in our room and the room is lovely, when we went down to the restuarant for dinner that evening we were served dry horrible chicken and bacon for starters and the main course was no better the worst meal we had ever been served in our life, couldnt believe how bad the food was especially when lunch had been so nice To top it all off the next morning we went down for breakfast and the girl who was taking the room numbers seated us,everything was fine when suddenly she arrived at our table and was so rude, she wanted to know ''our real room number'' and was so rude the way she spoke to us it was like we had walked in off the street and were getting a free breakfast the way she was going on, we had given the wrong room number by mistake we gave the first room number we were in instead of the upgraded one,she stormed off after i showed her our room key card and did not offer tea or coffee, we were so anoyed and just left, i didnt complain when leaving the hotel because there was no point waste of time, i will never be back there again.
Excellent dinner, bed & breakfast stay at Silversprings. Rooms were lovely and spacious, hotel was very relaxing and had good atmosphere. Restaurant was excellent for dinner and breakfast and the food was very good quality. Staff excellent throughout. Would highly recommend lidl-breaks and Silversprings.
Stayed here for two days, our room was on the top floor and we had a lovely scenic view. On our way up the steps to the hotel I noticed a broken glass outside the restaurant and when leaving two days later it was still there. Had dinner included for one night in the hotel and had a large bottle of water with it. On our way out I was followed up the steps and asked to return to the grim faced guy at front of house to pay for my bottle of water. I expected any extras to be added to my bill, so i felt like a naughty schoolboy trying to nick something from a shop. Despite that the rest of the staff were lovely the food was nice, the room was lovely and i would stay there again.
Excellent value and the dinner and breakfast were delicious.
We stayed at the Silver Springs Moran hotel in feb 2012, it was a great night we had a lovely meal in the bar and there was lovely music playing there. We were made to feel very welcome and we would have no hesitation in going back or in recommending this hotel.
This is my forth time staying at the silver springs and iv loved it there, but this time a diidnt. The hotel room was freezing all the time. For a 4 star hotel you would expect alot better. We complained on the first day and the staff were very helpful. they turned up the heating but thats on a timer, and the rad was covered so hardly any heat came out.On the second night no heating came on at all in the day or the evening. We complained again at 10pm and by 10.45pm nobody arrived. We had or 3 year old with us so we needed to get her to bed. We phoned again and said we were still waiting and she said ( ohh sorry, has nobody called yet???) i told her to forget about it, that it was getting late and we needed to put the child to bed and not to send anybody up as it was now 11pm.Its the coldest hotel iv ever stayed in. When we cheaked out,we werent even asked, did you enjoy your stay and was everything ok???Very dissapointing. My daughter ended up with a nasty chesty cough as the room was so cold. Not good enough for a four ****
Enjoyed our night in Silver Springs Hotel Cork. Bed was very comfortable, just a pity there was contruction works opposite our room. Breakfast was excellent with good service. Main gripe is that we used public transport and the hotel is rather inaccessible by bus unless one is fit for the walk up the hill
myself mother and my sister stayed there recently. We had a problem with the room we where pyt in as there was a dreadful noise which kept us awake for the whole of the night. We complaint the following morning and out complaint was deallt with very efficently and to our satisfaction. The staff where excellent. the food excellent. We where very disappoint with the leisure centre as this is not in the silver springs but a good twenty minute walk away all of which is uphill, you would need a car if you had young children going swimming. Other than that we had a lovely stay.
Hotel was really nice, rooms very clean and staff were helpful.. Food in the bar and restaurant was excellent Leisure centre and pool were a dissapointment, however didn't effect over overall stay which was really nice.
The hotel and facilities were very good. The girl that was on duty at reception was very friendly and helpful. We had evening meal which was included...it was fab for the price. We would gladly stay again.
really enjoyed break in Silver Springs Hotel. The pool was inviting but water a little on the cold side. The rooms were spacious and clean. I would highly recommend Silver Springs and will go there again
Stayed 1 night with dinner and breakfast .Everything was just fine.Friendly ,efficient staff.First class dinner, great breakfast.Would recommend it.
Hotel fine, breakfast very good, staff always pleasant and helpful. Only issue i would have is that on booking, it appears that the full cost is not given, the cost children's breakfast is added on at check out stage. This can be a surprise when paying the bill.
The staff in the Silver Spings Hotel are very helpful and friendly from the reception staff to the bar staff and restaurant staff. The buffet breakfast was very nice and had something to suit everyones taste. We ate in the bar on the night of our stay and the food was very good, fresh and tasty. I would recommend this hotel for an overnight stay in Cork if you don't want to stay in the busy city centre. I will definitely stay in this hotel again and recommend it to my friends.
Stayed in the sliverspings hotel many times before and always had a lovely stay however this recent stay was not so good, i checked in and the room i was in was a no smoking room but when i went to the room it was stink with smoke, i opened the windows and headed out for the day hoping the smell would be gone when i got back as the hotel was busy with a wedding and i didnt want to be complaining but i was sorry i didnt demand a room change as the stink of ciggerettes was still there when i came back, i was up all night coughing, also the ceiling in the bathroom was full of black mould and the dust in the room was unreal, i suffer with asthma and so all this was not good, i complained to the manager on duty the following morning but i got no where with it i felt like he didnt really care, the last thing you expect to happen is to be up all night when your away on a nights break and up i was so unfortunatly i did not have a pleasant stay at the sliver springs this time, food was lovely as usual there so it was such a pity that this happened with the room as i have enjoyed many stays at this hotel.
could not fault it - pool however was not site
This hotel was a lovely hotel to stay in, the bar was lovely for chilling and relaxing but still had a great buzz of people coming and going. the overall atmosphere was great and the rooms lovely. however, the only down fall we would give this hotel was that the meal in the hotel restaurant was horrible..... there was not enough choice on it and the main courses we both got we both didnt like at all.
We got a lovely welcome in the Sliver Springs Hotel. The staff and service was excellent, great food and hotel very clean. Only draw back was the pool is not part of the hotel and we had to walk up a hilly road to get there. 3stars because of that, Cheers
This wasn't the best hotel experience in my life at all... If not to say more.. We have been treated as if we "robbed" the place. Reception had checked our booking form several times before checking us in, and then they were looking at it over and over again, whenever we were going into the restaurant for dinner, etc. (as if they couldn't believe that the hotel was offering such a deal), making us feel uncomfortable. The first night in the restaurant wasn't too bad. The hotel staff in general is quite helpful. However, on the second night, the supervisor did not even bring the water to our table, she has not checked if we were ok; moreover in front of all the guests sitting in the restaurant at the time she reiterated that our rate would only include the meal for two, children’s meals are not included, and that we have to pay for the drinks separately. We said, - it was fine, of course we knew what the conditions of the offer were, and that kids meals were not included, and that, obviously, we would have to pay for our drinks.. It wasn’t nice at all from her side speaking it all out loud in front of the other guests.. At the same time she approached other “more important tables at least twice each during the evening, asking if the guests were ok and if they had everything they needed (needless to repeat myself that we weren’t offered even a jug of water!!).. So, while the food was great, and some members of the staff were particularly nice and helpful, this kind of “second class citizens’ treatment towards us killed the whole experience…
hi i stayed in the silversprings for one night food was excellent bar staff very nice pool disaster 8 min walk away no baby pool hotel itself was ok room was bright but dated the fire alarm kept going of from 4am to 5 am and no apologies for it reception staff could be better price was good
I stayed here recenty for one night on the lidl break with dinner included with my mom and my two kids - I have to say it was a great value break away. The food was excellent and the staff were very nice all round. The downfalls was the noise from the road outside in the morning as we had to leave the bedroom window open due to the heat during the night as there was no airconditioning. this wouldn't stop me returning again though as we all really enjoyed the stay and it was very suitable for families with kids!
Stayed one night only but really enjoyed it. Downside is distance from city centre. %u20AC11 to %u20AC13 euro for taxi into town. Staff at reception extremely helpful and friendly. One of the bar staff was unpleasant. Room was bright, clean and spacious. Fairly dated bathroom but very clean. Would recommend this hotel. Great value for money. Breakfast was good, though I'm not a fan of the buffet style for the cooked breakfasts.
reception area, bar and restaurant were all spotless and did have the appearance of a 4 star hotel.but the rooms were a big let down, they were small and the en suites could do with a good make over however the quality of the food would almost make up for it.The water marque restaurant was top class.
Stayed in the silver springs easter weekend 2011 - there was a mix up with the booking and was upgraded to The Tivoli Suite with no extra cost . Room was fantastic , breakfast was beautiful . Reception staff and bar staff very helpful and friendly . The leisure centre was bout 10 mins away up a steep hill but after the breakfast it was ideal . Had stayed in the Silver Springs last year and would def recommend it . Only fault would be to have a better selection on the menu and to include a kids menu . Audrey Leahy . Tipperary
The hotel was fabulous and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is that the shower was very bad ..... water just dribbled out so it took ages to have a shower, ended up washing my hair in the sink. The bar food and breakfast were exquisite.
We stayed here for 2 nights .Room was clean but for four of us not very spacious .Bathroom very dated .shower difficult to work ,bath very slippy ,antislip mat was hidden away with the sign saying please use hidden under it !.Staff were friendly .Breakfast was excellent .while the hotel states the leisure centre is on site it isnt !.I asked could I walk to it and was told yes even though i had 2 children with me .It is up a very steep hill and a good 10 min walk .The leisure center is dated .only 1 family changing room and no shower .More worrying was on check out They tried to charge me a higher rate per night .even taking into account the charge for breakfast for children ,it was more then that .The hotel is on the out skirts of cork so a car is necessary .This is not a four star hotel
had a most enjoyable stay at the silver springs hotel. Staff extremely helpful, food absolutely gorgeous. Great value and will definately return.
I have been to several hotels through Lidl Breaks and i would not recommend the Silver Springs. Did not find the reception staff friendly, room was small and not very clean. I would not return to that hotel again.
Spent the weekend, lovely hotel, very clean and quite, staff very approachable. Had breakfast, lunch, dinner all great food. - only down side was it was out of City - cost 12.50 Euro each way by taxi. Would recommend hotel.
Had a lovely time at this hotel, staff very pleasant and courteous, bar food was excellent and service was prompt. The Source leisure centre was great, we spent a few hours there on both days of our stay. The rooms were good, if a little too warm, but it was up to us to turn the heating down if wished, only complaint was that the pillows were too firm for my liking!
My husband and I along with other guests stayed in the Silver Springs Hotel last weekend after a family wedding. I must say, it ticked all the boxes. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and suprisingly quiet, consideriing its proximity to the main road. The staff are friendly and approachable. As regards value for money, again, ticked the box! I would definitely stay here again.
great hotel value for money from lidl breaks would book it again.
Had a great stay at the sliver springs hotel recently, staff were great and food in the resturant was of an execellent standard, Hotel was quiet full and so there was a good flow of people around, there was a great band playing on the saturday night which i enjoyed and the over all experience was very good compared to some other hotels i have stayed at in Cork, Breakfast was lovely and they had a gerat selection of things to suit everyone, i would recomend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break but i didnt see any children around so i wouldnt reomend it for children.
Excellent deal, lovely hotel and fantastic meal in the restaurant!!
very nice will go back
We enjoyed our stay very much at the Silver springs hotel. The room and the dinner were excellent especially the service in the dining room. We would recommend this hotel. The only thing was that we were charged for the full amount including the deposit of 11.86e which we had already paid. The bill came to 108e which was 98e plus 10e for 2 glasses of wine. We are contacting the hotel to the rectify this. It could be because we booked with one credit card and paid the hotel with a different one.
I wasn't happy with the fact that the leisure centre is in a seperate building to the hotel. we had young children and as it was up a very steep hill we had to drive to it. The pool itself was freezing and the changing rooms were not very clean. The bar on Saturday night was completly reserved for a party and we had no where it sit for a drink so we had to go up to our room. The chef at the counter for breakfast was extremly rude and not a bit helpful.
Had great stay lovely rooms. Would def recommend this hotel. Ten euro in taxi to the city centre for a night out . Staff were very helpful and friendly . Rooms were lovely too. Lido breaks are great value wil def use them again
Great hotel at a great price. Convenient location, plenty of parking, nice rooms, music in the bar & a great breakfast. 5/5 for value!
We enjoyed our stay recently at this hotel. The breakfast was good and had a lot of choice. We had the set dinner here and loved the chicken dish. Would stay at this hotel again. The only negative point is that the leisure centre is not in the hotel and is a 10 minute walk away.
I rate this hotel 5 star, it was comfortable and beautiful all at the same time, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was second to none. The freedom for the kids in hotel was great and the family room size was perfect. Would definetly recommend this hotel to any family looking for a break away. The leuiure centre is just a short walk away and very clean and well run. The value of the break was outstanding with Lidl Family of 5 from Clonmel.
superb value for money, hotel was very comfortable food was delicious especially the evening meal which we availed of in the 49e bb& evening meal deal would definately recommend it to others ideal location for cork city or visiting kinsale etc
lovely hotel, family room a very good size, friendly helpful staff, restaurant and bar food delicious!! only down side was the leisure centre being a bit far away.
Top class, great service, lovely room , had a beautiful meal and all for under 100 euros. Will avail of these deals again.
Staff were excellant. I enjoyed my stay. Lidl breaks are great value for money.
Enjoyed my stay food excellent staff very helpfull no problem staying there again and would recommend it.
Upon arrival before check in time / no problem by the reception staff, very polite and helpful Hotel itself is quite good and rooms are comfortable, Restaurant is very relaxing and the food is of a very good quality and presented really good, Overall a comfortable stay and would have no problems about staying here again
We had a very enjoyable stay at the Silver Springs Hotel. Food was excellent especially the breakfasts, staff were friendly and helpful. The only drawback was that we were celebrating our anniversary and the dining room is closed Sundays & Mondays which we were not told about until we arrived.
I enjoyed my 2 night stay in the Silver Springs Hotel. The rooms were comfortable and the food was very nice
The hotel was well worth the price, rooms were gorgeous, food was lovely and staff very friendly! The only draw back was that the hotel is a little bit out of the town %u20AC10 in a taxi every time, but saying that, taxis were easy to get and all the drivers were lovely and really helpful. Would definitely go back!
Very friendly and helpful staff.Hotel lovely and clean.Food lovely.Excellent value all round.Would definitely recommend it.
This was my 2nd visit to the hotel with a lidl break and I was disappointed this time. I stayed on a Sunday night and the restaurant was closed and dinner was the BAR menu, we could not get veg or potatoes with our meal only fries and salad. We sat in the bar and had to bend over a small table to eat our dinner. The room was very nice and spacious and the staff were friendly and professional. I would not stay again on a Sunday night.
Valerie 13 september2010 We had a really great visit to the hotel, great experience, every one very friendly . Excellent value, food lovely, served by very friendly staff. Would highly recommend hotel ,And will certainly make a return visit.
The Hotel was lovely, the reception staff were excellent and very friendly. Rooms a little shabby though. Food excellent only downside was that the staff were at great pains to enphasise that we were staying on a LIdl break. Leisure centre was quite a walk up a steep hill away from the hotel - would have been nice to have been informed about before hand.
Hi, The staff were excellent and very helpful. Accommadation was clean tidy and family rooms were very spaious. Meals in the hotel both at the bar and restraunt were of a very high standard. Will be seen at Silver Springs again. Banana
Our stay at the hotel was great. Food and accomodation were very good. Didnt get to leisure centre at all but i believe it was in a seperate building away from hotel so that would of been a bit of a disapointment. Otherwise i would definitely recommend hotel for food, accomodation and location.. All excellend.
i would rate the hotel with four stars, the hotel room was very comfortable and clean, the staff were very courteous and friendly. overall i had no problems with the hotel, as for the value for money aspect, it definitely was and it was a great plus that you didnt have to collect so called points to use the breaks. it makes someone more willing to use the website again and t
We had a lovely stay in the Hotel. The location was perfect for our needs (visited Fota 1 day and the city the next day). The staff were very friendly and the family room was spacious with all our requirements. We visited the leisure centre on the 2nd day which was nice, the only drawback was that although it is on the grounds of the hotel, we had to drive to it as it's a long walk up a big hill and not suitable for children. Good value for money, breakfast super with all requirements for adults & children. Overall, an enjoyable stay and I would stay tehre again, Thanks, Karen
We stayed here in July and I have to say it was a wonderful stay. The hotel is very modern, the staff are extremely helpful, the food was magnificent and the leisure facilities were second to none. Couple that with the incredible Lidl value deal and the proximinty to Fota and Cobh and I can assure you I will be going back. Go for this deal as I don't know how long you will get value like this !!!!
Hotel was lovely, staff so friendly and helpful. Food delicious no complaints from any of my party. Would go back again, thoroughly enjoyed it
Great Hotel, Great Value and Great food would recommend this hotel it is very close to the Fota wildlife park and just minutes from the city. Had a great weekend
Had a brilliant weekend in Silversprings in Cork. It is a lively hotel and the weekend we stayed there were a number of functions - undoubtedly a popular hotel. Its proximity to Cork City and the ample parking also add to its allure. The special dinner menu which is available for the Lidl value break is good - although you get the feeling that the hotel waiting staff do not pay as much attention to you if you avail of this option meal and give more attention to those guests who have ordered from the a la carte. Having said that the Lidl offer and the facilities of the hotel make the break unquestionably good value.
on arrival to hotel, i had booked a double room, however when we checked in we were given a twin room, complained a reception and was send to the 6th floor to a double room, when we entered this floor there was a bad smell of mould and the room was stinking of cigerette smoke, so we complained a second time. we were than upgraded to the suite room which was beautiful.. i found the staff to be very helpful and accomadating.. the food was beautiful also... enjoyed our stay eventually...
We enjoyed our stay in the hotel the staff, rooms and breakfast were a high standard. The leisure center was a drive away as we have small children, the pool etc was clean but very dated the surrounding pool area was not very pleasant. On checking out we were asked to pay an extra suppliment for our childrens breakfast although all that they ate were the cereals. It was a good base for the Cork area Fota etc.
We enjoyed our stay at Silver Springs very much, accommodation, food, excellent value for money, staff very friendly, location great, leisure centre/swimming pool a bit out of the way and in need of some up-grade.
faultless!
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Silver Springs Hotel. The accommodation was very good and we could not find fault with the choice of food. The staff, without exception, were very friendly and efficient. We spent our days in Cork city and the evenings in the hotel itself for a quiet drink. The only negative for us was the distance from the hotel to the Leisure Centre for swimming - it was quite a walk up a very steep hill, although technically still on the grounds of the hotel.
We had a lovely time hotel was lovely clean food fab rooms lovely.......hotle leisure club was very poor old run down and a good 20 mint walk away from hotel...
Lovely big family rooms, great breakfast and perfect location for a family getaway!!!
Great location, large room, fantastic facilities, food very nice, very kid friendly, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again when in Cork
Excellent hotel good location just outside the city, very friendly staff, good clean rooms, food was excellent. Everything you want for a weekend away,
The room is quite old..needs a renovation especially the toilet...I'm a traveler myself I've been to other countries and for a 4star hotel Silver Springs Moran Hotel doesn't impress me. T^he food was delicious and staff members are very accommodating & pleasant.
Rooms were comfortable and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was very disappointing. We stayed Sunday and Monday night and the restaurant wasnt open so we had to make do with the bar food. There was a very limited choice available with many items apparently 'sold out' even though we were in there for dinner at 6.30pm.
Very good value
We were a bit worried on arrival as the hotel doesn't look pleasant from the outside, but once we got inside our worries eased. Very clean hotel, rooms were adequate and food was top notch. We had the car with us and it was about 10 mins drive to Blarney Castle and also 10 mins to Fota Wildlife Park it was about 5 mins from the city centre so all in all the hotel is in a good location. I will be returning to this hotel if i ever return to Cork :-)
We really enjoyed our stay here at the Silversprings Hotel - our family room was of generous proportions and the food was excellent, really good value. The kids had a lot of fun, especially at the pool, which is a steep uphill walk/drive from the hotel and operated separately. This hotel is in a great location, affording fabulous views over the port. However, the downside of this was the number of steps up and down to the carparks, up to the hotel, down to the restaurant... my mother, for whom steps are difficult, found this a challenge. Overall though, I would definitely return.
Stayed in silver springs on a lidl-break this year for a long week-end. Very good value for money, hotel is bout 10 min drive to cork city centre or bout 40 min walk. Hotel was very comfortable, staff excellent, swimming pool in need of an update. Hotel is very close to the train station.
