Very Nice Staff , reception superb. Room very small and did not have a hair dryer, Pool and leisure areas very untidy and the dressing rooms were not clean and smelled damp . There was no hot water in the Ladies dressing room showers and I had to wait until I returned to my room .

Lovely hotel. We weren't there that long but the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely. Loved the low bath!! Different. Breakfast was lovely as well! Couldn't find fault with the hotel!

We had a great stay recently in the Holyrood Hotel & Spa, staff were very friendly, rooms very clean and children had a great time in the swimming pool. Food was lovely, it was nice to see potato cake served with the breakfast :-) Would highly recommend this hotel to both couples and families.

Couple scored 3 / 5 on 25/02/2014

Beds are small double and rooms dated however clean and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Breakfast was good with table service.

Colm scored 5 / 5 on 02/11/2013

Our stay was fantastic. The staff bent over backwards to be helpful. The food and drinks were very reasonably priced and the leisure centre facilities were heaven sent on a stay when the Donegal weather lived up to its stereotype. The fact that you could get carvery style food in the bar was fantastic. As parents of small children will know being able to sit the kids down and give them the food straight away is a God send. As it was a school holiday the kids club was on which our two boys (5 and 2) loved. We'll definitely be back.

Rhona scored 4 / 5 on 04/06/2013

Our stay at the Hollyrood Hotel was very pleasant - mainly due to the pleasant and helpful staff who were just excellent in hospitality and professionalism. Many thanks for making my parents 50th wedding anniversary so special :-) The only negative point is I did feel that The hotel itself could do with a major revamp which I imagine they plan to do at some stage.

What can I say we have never stayed over night in Bundorn Co.Donegal in our lives ,but having done now,so we would recommend to everyone, epescially through Lild's short breaks offer. The hotel Holyrood, although quite a mature hotel , an absolutely very grand hotel. We found the entire ambeince of the hotel envoirnment and service thoughout was second to none, the room was wonderly accomadating, warm and very comfortable. The Hotel Holyrood restaurtants both for public use and residence of the hotel was lovely to eat in and the attendence of their staff was excellent. The staff on arrival was very welcoming and also thorough out our stay could not have been more friendly and helpfull in everyway, even up to our departure. Excellent care park faclities with great access to the hotel, both to the back and the front entrances. We hope to avail of lidil's short breaks offer in the future again, Thanking lidils and the holyrood for such a lovely time. we would recommend a four star rating

We enjoyed our stay for the weekend - Very good value (although we were asked to pay the full rate at check out so make sure they know you are on the Toaday FM deal) - Only charged an extra €10 for the kids breakfast for two mornings which was reasonable. Bar Food - Very Good with nice selection Staff - Generally very good Rooms - Just OK - Could do with better cleaning and a lick of paint - New televisions please! Leisure Centre - Doesn't look that old but seriously needs a good clean and repaint - Paint peeling off the walls - all lockers broken - really not very well looked after - water in pool looks dirty also All in all a great place to bring kids for a relaxed couple of nights but serious attention needs to be paid to the upkeep and cleaning of this place!

Hotel was very cold the window in are room was broken, had to ask one of the cleaners for a heater. The hotel has got very run down since I last stayed two years ago and breakfast and carvery was cold.

Spent valentines weekend here with my girlfriend, been here once before, both occasions the staff were extremely friendly, even all the businesses about the town are friendly, hotel is family-friendly, plenty to do, cinema, bowling, amusements, lovely walks, there's waterworld and a pitch n putt and go karting centre very close to hotel.

Asia scored 2 / 5 on 31/10/2012

The swimming pool & spa facilities were brilliant!!! - that covered up for rather poor rooms. The hotel is well established (mature) so you shouldn't expect much. Anyway the break was great & worth going there for the weekend (not longer)

Shamtip scored 4 / 5 on 28/10/2012

just back from here after a lovely weekend the hotel was excellent even though it is a bit dated it was clean and tidy staff very friendly had a meal here and it was excellent also the breakfast was as good as you require for the day would say the reviews the hotel has on other sites are very unfair in general good hotel great staff just needs a bit of updating with a freshen up to be an excelent hotel

Andrea, scored 4 / 5 on 25/10/2012

We have stayed a few times at the Holyrood. It is a good, friendly, welcomming place to stay all-be-it fairly basic. As we knew from past experience that the nightclub could be quite loud, this time we requested a quiet room. Certainly we didn't get the noise from the club but unfortunately we were put at the very front of the hotel and had to listen to the "crac" as people were waiting for their taxis!! Noise til four! Food is very good, however, we arrived at 8.10 pm on the Friday night and the restaurant was unavailable to us. We weren't too happy to have the bar carvery offered as an alternative, but in fact we had an excellent meal. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast good although we would have liked to have yoghurts/porridge/juices or a little more choice but what was on offer was very good. We love Bundoran and will definately stay at the Holyrood again. Andrea, Roscommon

Warm welcome, rooms great size, shower heads need replacing. Breakfast was lovely, its very busy at times though, great food nonetheless. Didn't use the fascilities as much as would have wanted, but pretty much used hotel to sleep in and went sightseeing. Great location, staff are always helpful, food in the bar was unreal. Will stay again for sure.

Stayed in room 308. Might as well have slept in the nightclub. Music booming till after 3 even tho asked for a room away from music. Run down room's. This hotel doesnt deserve a 1 star rating. Very dissapointed. I star

Central location on the beach. Friendly owner and staff. Very comfortable and relaxed. Great place to bring the kids as well.

Mo scored 3 / 5 on 12/09/2012

The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very tasty, location was central, the rooms were a bit dated, unfortunately on the saturday night the nite club in the basement kept us awake until 3am eventhough we were on the 3rd floor.

Siobhan scored 2 / 5 on 22/02/2012

Spent two nights at this hotel. We booked a family room for two adults and two children. A douple bed and one single room with a pull out sofa bed was given to us. Kids could not sleep in sofa bed as it was hard and about to fall apart!! they had to sleep in single bed. The rooms are very dated and cold. There was a night club straight across the carpark from where we were, so no one could sleep until that was over... approx 3:30. The pool was lovely tho, but not enough to bring us back im afraid.

Our bedroom room smelt of smoke-didnt have a non smoking when requested. Requested soap in shower -didnt appear.Requested early breakfast-wasnt ordered. It was a hotel which would have suited those on a budget. Good parts-the carvery was great, the hotel brekfast was good and plentyfull. Staff friendly .Hotel needs a good overhaul .Three stars***.

We were a group of 8 people we stayed at the Holyrood in SEPT 2011. I woud rate it 3 out of 5, the rooms def need a revamp the rooms smelt quite musty. the hotel it self was good the reception and restaurant was nice I would give the food just average rate. The hotel staff were nice and the owner made us feel very welcome ! Good location Niteclub was a good spot too just down under the hotel! Over all its an average hotel. If the rooms were a little nicer we would come back, the bathrooms need to be redone Very old ! Tiles Very old. and please get rid of the bed throw overs , they are too worn out. We had a good time apart from that Thanks a million Claire - Dublin

We stayed one night in the Holyrood Hotel and we will be back! Really friendly staff, lovely food and the kiddies club was just something else. Our children were kept entertained with bouncy castles, swimming pool, arts and crafts, story telling, cinema and for bedtime a story and hot chocolate with marshmallows. All the while hubby and I were enjoying the pools sauna and steam room. The hotel couldn't do more for us. As said at the beginning, we're planning our next break to Bundoran already and we will be staying here.

Carol scored 4 / 5 on 26/04/2011

very impressed with the hotel and town, its a very family friendly hotel and over all a great weekend away and would recommend it to anyone i gave it 4 stars because at dinner i asked for potatoes and beans for my 3 year old son and they would accomadate which i find very unreasonable because its not that difficult to open a tin of bachelors but other wise we had a lovely weekend for a great price. we saved %u20AC25 compared to other sites....thanks lidl....XXX

Smud scored 3 / 5 on 29/06/2010

Just spent a weekend with my husband at the Holyrood and I have to say we thoroughly enjoyed it. Food while not being excellent would rate very highly in my estimation, for both choice and standard. Even though the hotel could do with a bit of reburbishing and a lick of paint the staff made up for this shorfall by being very helpful and friendly. The evening enterainment was an added bonus. The one major fault with our room was that the previous occupant had been a smoker and even though we left the window open all the time the smell was a bit over-powering to us as we are both non smokers. It would not be a bad idea for the hotel to be a non smoking establishment. I would have no problem in recommending this hotel to my friends and family. Carol K.
