This is a beautiful boutique style hotel. I loved it. The bedrooms and dining room are very tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The food was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful hotel set on beautiful grounds. It's as beautiful as it looks on it's website.

Lovely hotel, spotless and friendly staff. Food reasonable, first night poor but second not so busy and very good! Because of Covid we spent more time in our room and just two tv channels available in 2020 was frankly a bit of a joke!

Robert scored 4 / 5 on 24/05/2016

Good value in the package we received, hotel is very nice, room was comfortable, the breakfast was great. Staff we great also. The evening meal included in our package was a big let down with very limited choices and additional supplements for some items on a already limited package menu. There was another Errigal Package menu which was substantially better but not available to Bargain Break guests which added to the disappointment even more, it''s basically the 3rd choice menu on offer.

I booked this B&B break in the hotel through Lidi Breaks. This really is a hidden gem and without Lidi I would never have tried it. The hotel is in a beautiful peaceful rural setting which was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The double room decor was very nice and the room was large with good facilities. Both the breakfast as part of the deal and the evening meal were excellent. I would have liked to have stayed longer and used the Spa, however I plan a return trip soon. Thank you to the Errigal Country House and to Lidi Breaks for a enjoyable overnight stay.

Maura scored 3 / 5 on 19/05/2015

We had an overnight stay in this hotel which included an evening meal. The hotel was very nice and the staff were pleasant. However we were very unhappy with the dinner arrangement. Firstly, we paid an additional €13.50 each for dinner (deal was €52.50 each per night) and then received a voucher for €12 for a meal so instantly we were down €3. We understood that we could have a 2 course meal in the bar or use the voucher towards a meal in the restaurant. As there was only 2 choices of meals for the voucher in the bar, (everything else including a burger even had supplements added!), we decided to have our meal in the restaurant. We were offered a set menu for €30 and made our choices from this menu. However when we finished our meal we were advised that even though we took everything from that menu, each item on that menu would be priced individually and the total then came to over €30 each. We were very unhappy with this an it left us with a bad feeling about the place. We were very disappointed as I had booked this as a gift for my husband for his birthday. We didn't complain that night as it wasn't a hugely significant amount for us, but there were a number of other people complaining about the same issue. We did raise it the next day when we were checking out but felt that there was not much point as the manager/owner did not seem to care. There were 6 people ahead of us at checkout also complaining about the same thing! We feel that this made absolutely no business sense for the hotel as people were not prepared to spend money in the bar after their meal and the staff seemed to receive very little or no tips. We even overherd the staff complaining too when they were checking what tips wer left for them! It was such a pity as its a lovely hotel and people wouldn't have minded as long as it was very clear what the deal entailed. It just looked like they were making up the cost of providing the deal with hidden add- ons, even in the bar! All in all I don't think I could recommend this hotel on the basis of this farcical meal deal!

Mags22 scored 4 / 5 on 31/03/2015

The staff were very accommodating during our stay here. The hotel informed us prior to our visit that they had over booked. However they provided us with a very spacious double room over in their lodge accommodation adjacent to the hotel. It was very nice. The bar food was delicious and was very good value. We stayed here for a few hours chilling out. I would return to this hotel again. The only disappointment we had was that the spa was booked out when we contacted them prior to our visit. Other than this it was a fab stay!

Nicola scored 4 / 5 on 09/03/2015

Myself and my partner stayed at the hotel recently, on a Friday night stay. Hotel was lovely, food was good - however, we found the menu that was part of the "package" extremely limited and the initial information on the site was quite misleading. Breakfast, however was fab, used the spa facilities, which while being quiet small, it was very enjoyable. Will hope to return and have recommended to others, but have made them aware of limited offer menu and what I thought was quite steeply priced supplements.

Tim scored 4 / 5 on 27/01/2015

Nice hotel with good customer service. Our only real gripe was the food we ordered in the small bar (not restaurant) was basically pricey for what it was and it was nothing to write home about. However our room was very nice, very clean and the bed was very comfy and we had a balcony too. The staff were very friendly towards us and I believe we had been given some kind of free upgrade from the standard room. The hotel is fairly quiet this time of year which I guess is normal, in fact it was good because the noise levels were low. There is a spa there but we didn't do that so can't comment there in fact i didn't even know there was a steam room or sauna there to be honest. We wanted to get out of the city for a night and we did some very nice walks in the surrounding area and plenty of lakes so the location for that was ideal.

This is a nice hotel with friendly staff. Very good food! Well cooked & presented & affordable. Staff & chef are gluten free aware. Breakfast a little scattered - tea arriving after toast but no big deal. Check the water situation - there was a problem with the water supply locally - NOT the hotels faullt - so if its still on skip tea, coffee & ice. Hotel really needs to raise this with council / water supplier as it will affect business. Disabled bedroom nice - the bathroom needs a toiletry shelf. Also refixing of the shower stool/bench as a matter of urgency as it is loose. Nice sheltered sun spots outside. Helpful front of house staff. If you want to use the spa you definately need to book. Nice place.

We stayed here for one night dinner, bed & breakfast. Room was nicely decorated and had a balcony. Food was great, breakfast cooked to order the following morning which is much fresher. Couldn't fault the evening meal either. Staff very friendly and welcoming. I would stay here again.

We stayed in the errigal country house Hooters on Friday 27 June 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found the staff very friendly and polite, or room was very comtortable and we had a balcony to ourselves. The food was very tasty and service very good. Overall we had no complaints and will definately be going back there again.

Myself and 3 others stayed on 22nd March 2014. Rooms were lovely and spacious and nicely decorated. Dinner was very tasty and good value. We enjoyed the music in the bar after dinner and even got up for a wee dance! Reception staff provided copies of local walks for us too. All in all a very enjoyable break.

Wob scored 3 / 5 on 12/01/2014

A nice enough hotel, clean and comfortable but nothing spectacular. I'm not sure if it deserves it's 4 star status; the lack of swimming pool and other leisure amenities was quite telling. There is little to do in the surrounding area although the scenery is beautiful. I got the impression that this hotel was built with the sole purpose of hosting weddings. The hotel itself was extremely quite, at times it felt like we were the only guests although this could be due to the fact it was immediately after Christmas. The food and service was very good. We stayed for a weekend deal that included dinner on one night. The dinner menu offered as part of this deal was quite limited so I ordered a fillet steak from the regular menu. I was quite surprised to find I was charged an extra 20 euro for this- a bit of penny-pinching by the hotel that tainted a generally enjoyable stay.

A group of ten visited this hotel last weekend and were staying overnight on Saturday. All were of the view that the staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation. bed and breakfast, was excellent. Our evening meal could not be faulted and the service was very good. Anything we ordered was delivered on the spot. Again staff in the restaurant were very courteous. There was a real buzz around the hotel following our meal on Saturday night. Really enjoyed the stay and would definitely recommend. The weather was not great for walks within the vicinity - the views from the hotel were lovely. You could just imagine it on a summer sunny day - lovely!!! Many thanks to all.

Arrived on a Friday in the afternoon. We were greeting with a friendly smile from the receptionist on arrival. Our room was basic for a 4 star hotel. No little extras, like drawers for storing smalls etc., and no tissues (hankies). Had our dinner in Reynards Restaurant that night and it was ok, nothing to write home about. We ordered onion rings with the meal and eventually they came but were raw, presentation was terrible. Did not enjoy our meal at all - no atmosphere in the restaurant, only one other couple. The waiter was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast on two mornings was fine and and more people had arrived on the Saturday so the atmosphere improved. In a beautiful location.

Shazmaz scored 3 / 5 on 24/10/2013

The room was clean but the ground in stains on the bedroom carpet left a very poor first impression!! There was a good choice of options on the inclusive dinner menu and the quality and quantity received was superb. The staff were friendly and the overall decor of the hotel was impressive and provided an inviting & relaxing ambience.

Topcat scored 4 / 5 on 23/10/2013

Had a wonderful stay in Errigal Country House Hotel last weekend. The staff had the unique combination of friendliness and professionalism remembering our requests - amending our booking without any fuss and generally ensuring that we had a relaxing stay. Dinner was gorgeous - we had access to whole menu with minimal supplements for items outside of our deal. Request for "a bikkie" with after dinner teas resulted in a plateful of choccy biscuits being presented which was really appreciated. Full Irish breakfast with croissants and fruit selection was available the next day, setting us up nicely for our journeys home! It was a wonderful reunion of friends from Dublin, the North and other parts of the country with the location being 90 mins drive for all of us so location was perfect! Highly recommend this hotel!

By Annie B. on 17th September 2013 Had a very enjoyable two night stay there . The grounds and gardens were the first to greet you with an array of colour( and kept in pristine condition) on entering the premises. The hotel itself was immaculate and the staff very friendly and helpful .The food was top notch also. Could not fault it in any way . I would highly recommend this hotel for a break away whether it be long or short , it's well worth a visit ! I'll be back !!

Fred scored 2 / 5 on 16/09/2013

The Best part of the visit was the lovely gardens that greet you on your arrival .on checking in we asked about the dining arrangements and tines and were also handed a letter because we had a lidl deal .this letter informed us that this voucher was worth €17.00 and to present it when dining .It continued to state that we should contact reception to dine in the restaurant .we revived these letters at 5.30 pm i went to reception at 6.00 pm to book a table and was informed that the restaurant was closed and we would have to eat in the public Bar .i expressed surprise and explained that we were looking forward to an evening in the restaurant,I was then promised that a special effort would be made with the table .(which never happened) As I waited for my fellow guests to join me I picked a table directly in front of where the Irish /Austria soccer match was showing on the TV and after 15 minuits of watching the match the waiter upon a request from some other guest that had come in to dine decided to mute the TV that I was watching, upon questioning this I was informed that I could watch the match at the other end of the bar ,however by then the only table we could sit at was directly behind some visitors from the USA who understandably had no interest in the game and continue to talk loudly through out the game . For main course I ordered a stake with Bearnaise sauce and after a few moments the waiter came back to ask what the sauce was as he had never heard of it, it was also stated how much each item we ordered cost that was not covered by the voucher as tho we could not afford it (most insulting ) the vegetables were under cooked and to add insult to injury, the bill we were asked to sign was overcharging by €20.00. There was no manager on duty that night or the following morning when we left . I or the other three guests staying with me would ever return to that hotel PS .I have since revived the apology from the management

Hotel was lovely but issues with hot water which is not what u want on a nice wkend away. Also the deal was to include a two course dinner but we were told this was only to the value of 17 euro each, most of the main courses were above 20 euro and starter and desserts were 6each so advertising a two course meal was not what u got.

Went to book a night away over the Easter and the Errigal Country House Hotel came up as been available. Didn't think it would be up to much as I have to say I had never heard of it before, and the fact that it was available at the last minute. But boy was I wrong: It was a classy hotel from the minute you walk in the door. The staff were friendly and helpful , the place was spotless. The bedroom was large and clean and you could put out a fire with the shower, it was brilliant. We had a two course evening meal as part of the package and it was first class. While there was a special menu for the deal we were told we could order off the main menu for a slight supplement. We didn't need to as the selection of starters and main courses were more than adequate. The wine was well priced and again a fair selection to choose from. A very nice hotel out a bit from town but with lovely grounds and plenty to do in the general area, some lovely walks within a short drive. Well worth staying there.

We had a meal in the bar which seemed very popular and the food there was excellent and very good value. We'd recommend the hotel overall with only a small gripe, the porridge for was probably more salty then a fried breakfast would have been, for our taste anyway.

We stayed in the Errigal House Hotel recently. I found it very comfortable and the staff could not have been more pleasant or more helpful. They looked after our every comfort. Food was great and the dining staff both efficient and attentive. Could not fault the hotel except on one point.... the room was very cold and as the weather was both wet and miserable, this was unpleasant. Perhaps there was a malfunction. We slept in the next day and missed breakfast. However the reception staff arranged a wonderful breakfast delivered to our room, free of charge. Exceptional service. I would return.

The have a spa upstairs. I didnt go but treatments seemed really reasonable on the price list. I had thought the hotel had a pool but it doesnt so that was a bit disappointing. There isnt really anything to do in cootehill and taxis into cavan cost 25e each way. Overall enjoyed the stay.

I would definitely recommend a lidl break here it was great value for money. The only downside was that there was a party on in the lounge downstairs and the music could be heard up in the rooms very clearly so if you are a light sleeper that could pose a problem.

My wife and I had a lovely time at Errigal Country House. Reception area was large and airy and rooms were very good with all modern conveniences including Wi Fi. Lovely large couches to relax, read or chat near reception area. Having spent my working life in the hospitality industry I regard staff attitude, and first impressions as one of the most important aspects of the hotel industry and I couldn't fault the hotel in this regard, they were all truly excellent. Brilliant value for money especially Reynards restaurant where the food was delicious. All in all a wonderful experience which my wife and I regard as a very lucky find, and haven't stopped telling friends about since we got home. Will definetly return. Des Halpin.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our Lidls break in the Errigal Country House Hotel. The hotel is lovely and grounds kept beautifully. We had a lovely room with balcony. We were slightly disappointed that we were unable to have our evening meal in the restaurant ( when booking we were advised we would have choice of three main courses and choice of dessert) but it turned out that we were offered bar food in the evenings with a wide range of choices, which was fine, the food was lovely and the breakfasts were also excellent. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The Lidls break was excellent value for moneu. E. Gilbert

Beautiful hotel and room was lovely, only one complaint and that was the restaurant. We were given one food voucher between two of us for the value of thirty euro, we were very limited to what we could have on the menu and ended up paying for another meal as thirty euro was only enough for one of us.. very disappointed with this as it ended up costing us extra. Lovely surroundings and easy to get to.
