Excellent food, comfortable quiet and warm room, very clean hotel throughout.
Nice staff, very friendly, breakfast and dinner were nice and good choice available, the rooms are spacious but furniture is a bit outdated, a modernization would be nice, especially the bathroom.
Immaculately clean, following Covid regulations, friendly staff, and wonderful food. Great value for money
Room could have done with a deeper clean (window frames etc)kettle didn’t work bed very comfortable and clean.food was excellent service excellent friendly staff.
Lovely staff and great v homely wee place to stay
Brilliant stay, very impressed with staff, cleanliness and food. Great location, just a short distance from town, very quiet and super comfortable beds. Staff went the extra mile to help, service was efficient but not intrusive. I would recommend this hotel and feel it is deserving of more than three stars, many thanks, hope to see you again, soon.
Very friendly staff and excellent food
Hotel was comfortable , lovely and quiet a bit dated in interior. Food was lovely at breakfast and had one evening meal there.
Basic but clean hotel a mile from town staff where brilliant food was lovely and the Guinness was superb ????????
The staff were very friendly and chatty. However the food was absolutely devine, smallish menu but cooked to perfection. We have done a lot of travelling around Ireland this year and this was by a long shot the best food we ate. (Would recommend the wings).
Excellent hotel. Great location in lovely Ballina. Perfect family hotel. Ideal for travelling around the county. Great value and brilliant, attentive, friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Room clean and comfortable, nice atmosphere and food delicious and well presented, good value
Good clean facilities. Food was excellent. Service good.
Room clean and comfortable, nice atmosphere and food delicious and well presented, good value
Basic no frills attached hotel. Our room was spotless and the staff friendly and helpful. Food good but I would of liked more choice on the dinner menu.
We had a wonderful stay. The food was excellent. A very welcoming atmosphere . The staff were very courteous and helpful..we throughly enjoyed our stay. We highly recommend this hotel and we will be back.
Only thing missing was a pool and playground but there is a playground down the road within walking distance. Food was fab, ate 3 nites in hotel, very reasonably priced. Kids menu also good value. We would def stay again.
Excellent staff, rooms a bit dated hence price food and staff fab
Had a lovely relaxing stay at the Downhill, the staff are so friendly and helpful. Clean, and the food was lovely, not expensive and piping hot. All in all i would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
We had a very pleasant stay in The Downhill. The check in was very fast and owner very welcoming.Staff were on the ball at all times.Food was beautiful ,both breakfast and dinner.Good selection on menu.Beds very comfortable.Bathroom had all our needs and the whole experience was very enjoyable. Will be returning in the future.
My family enjoyed a lovely stay at the Downhill Inn. Staff were friendly and very efficient. Room and breakfast were excellent, and with great service. Only downside was the heat in the room, that came on at night. There was no need for heat in July and there was no way to adjust it. Even when we asked for it to be turned off it remained switched on.
Good food friendly staff rooms a bit tired plumbing bad
The friendliness and professionalism of the staff was excellent. The food for the evening meal and breakfast was outstanding. We ordered the mackerel salad for starter. It was so good, and said everything about the quality and effort that is being put in behind the scenes to deliver for guests. Mackerel would not be my first (or even second) choice however, this was an outstanding example of local ingredients served well. The rooms are basic and clean. We are more than happy to recommend the Downhill Inn as a great place to stay on The Wild Atlantic Way.
The hotel is old but very clean . The rooms are basic but very clean . The staff are so friendly and efficient and plentiful. The food was fabulous with a nice variety to choose from. Overall had a lovely time and would definitely recommend it to everyone
As the weather was so nice and I had 2 days off work, it was wonderful to get a nice hotel. The staff were lovely and friendly. The hotel is situated just less than 10 minutes from Enniscrone if you want the beach. The food was wonderful. It’s a nice hotel with a pleasant atmosphere.
My husband , son and myself stayed on Saturday the 26th of June. The room was clean as was the bathroom, the only thing I would like is a shower separate from the bath because I have arthritis in my knees and hips and find it hard to get in and out of the bath to use the shower. We had breakfast on Sunday morning and it was delicious with plenty of choice. Any member of staff we delt with were very pleasant and helpful.
The service was excellent, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The accommodation and location was good. The stay overall was great, food could not be falted in anyway and I would stay again without a doubt.
Lovely relaxing stay, lovely friendly staff, very clean and comfortable and the food was excellent. Top quality at a reasonable price. We intend to go again soon.

Hotel bit dated and basic. But nice welcoming people there. Food very nice. Would stay there again.
Had a nice stay. Staff were very helpful.
Lovely little hotel. Couldn't be nicer people, both the owners and staff. Very clean, nice food and central location to explore the north west. Had to leave a night early because of a storm and they actually gave us money back. Didn't ask or expect it. Highly recommend.
my son and I stayed for 3 nights recently.... lovely hotel... lovely staff... lovely surroundings.. lovely food... very central .... would definitely stay again.....
Friendly & helpful staff, excellent food, throughly enjoyed our stay. Only negative for those who can't survive without wifi - wifi is terrible in the bedrooms.
Lovely friendly hotel. Only downfall was due to covid no travel cot provided for baby.
We had a very nice stay at the hotel The staff were very friendly and helpful The food was very good.
Nice quiet hotel, not a sound at night. Friendly, enjoyed stay
Sorry to rate this hotel 1out of 5. Please get some better bar staff.
The hotel rooms are very basic. They were cold, but fine after we turned on the central heating. The breakfast was lovely, of a higher quality and variety than you would expect, and the staff were very helpful, providing directions and practicalities like an iron.
lovely clean hotel staff very friendly it would be nice to have a swimming pool or spa food very good
Fantastic offer, class hotel, brilliant value for money,2 happy "campers"...will be taking up another offer SOON.
hi i was very disappointed with the hotel the food was very bad also no evening meals as restaurant was closed i would not recommend it to anyone and i would not book a break with lidl again
not very good under staffed and breakfast served cold
Location - a bit far out of town Bedrooms - very adaquate Facilities - very adaquate Staff - friendly Value - very good
Hi guys we stayed in a twin room it was clean but old.The beds were very good. The staff were great help as we were there for the salmon fishing in may. They have facilities for freezing fish and a dry room.Breakfast was good if your fishing the moy it,s spot on. and foxford just 15k drive.
The hotel was close to town which suited us. Its cheap and cheerful if your just looking for somewhere to rest your head. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The only downfall were the beds were very old amd matresses badly needed to be updated as they were very worn and flat. Brekkie was good but small but for the rate you pay this place is great for a stop off for cheap weekend!
Had a very plesant overnight stay at this hotel. Room very comfortable, good breakfast, and friendly helpful staff.
